This internship at Tesla's Athens, Greece office focuses on motor EM design for next-gen actuators in the Tesla Bot project. Responsibilities include developing advanced MATLAB functions to model actuator performance, conducting design optimization studies for humanoid actuators, processing big data to identify optimal candidates, and visualizing results. The intern will gain a solid understanding of electrical machine design and the impact of key parameters. The role requires strong MATLAB, mathematical, and physics skills, and fluency in English. This is a full-time, 6-month internship commencing in March/April 2025. Formal enrollment in higher education is mandatory for the duration of the internship.
Must have:
  • Pursuing Electrical Engineering degree
  • Strong MATLAB programming skills
  • Solid understanding of electric motors
  • Strong mathematical and physics skills
  • Fluency in English
  • Full-time on-site commitment
What to Expect

NOTE: In order to be eligible for this internship, you have to be formally enrolled in higher education for the entire duration of the internship.

Tesla’s Motor Design team designs and builds electric motors for various applications. During your internship at Tesla, you will be working on groundbreaking new actuator technology for the Tesla Bot. You will work as part of the Tesla Motor Technology team located in Athens, Greece, on motor EM design for Tesla’s next-gen actuators. 

What You’ll Do
  • Responsible for developing advanced MATLAB functions to model actuator performance
  • Perform design optimization studies for humanoid actuators
  • Process big data, select the most compelling candidates and visualize the results
  • Develop solid understanding of electrical machine design and identify the impact of key design and operating parameters
What You’ll Bring
  • Pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering (formally enrolled for the entire duration of the internship is a prerequisite)
  • Good understanding of electric motors
  • Strong MATLAB programming skills
  • Strong mathematical and physics skills
  • Fluency in English
  • Comitting to a full-time schedule on-site (40h p/w)
