Job Summary

JetBrains is seeking a General Ledger Manager to join its international finance team in Prague. This role involves managing accounting functions, overseeing period book closing, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, and producing financial reports. The manager will also collaborate with various internal teams, contribute to process improvements, and support global company initiatives, requiring strong technical expertise and strategic judgment.

Must Have

  • Manage the company’s accounting functions and bookkeeping processes.
  • Be responsible for the period book closing routines in cooperation with the senior accountant and GL specialists.
  • Monitor and analyze accounting data to report to the FP&A team.
  • Produce financial reports and statements as per statutory requirements.
  • Ensure application of appropriate accounting methods, policies, and principles.
  • Coordinate and complete statutory reporting and support annual audits.
  • Actively cooperate with other relevant teams like Payroll, Tax, HR, FP&A, and Controlling, as well as the international accounting team on the group level.
  • Provide relevant recommendations to local and group stakeholders regarding local operations.
  • Contribute to improving accounting processes and ensuring a scalable solution for our expanding accounting activities.
  • Support the group finance team and contribute to the success of global company initiatives.
  • Have a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Experience with the operations of a local company that is part of a global group.
  • Have supervisory or management experience.
  • Are detail-oriented, ensuring accuracy and precision in financial data and reports.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced international environment, balancing multiple priorities with ease.
  • Are reliable, proactive and self-motivated.
  • Quickly grasp new processes.
  • Love building cross-departmental relationships and fostering a collaborative atmosphere.

As part of our team, you will:

  • Manage the company’s accounting functions and bookkeeping processes.
  • Be responsible for the period book closing routines in cooperation with the senior accountant and GL specialists; ensure appropriate book entries, and cover bank reconciliations and other relevant activities for accuracy of the accounting books.
  • Monitor and analyze accounting data to report to the FP&A team.
  • Produce financial reports and statements as per statutory requirements to ensure compliance with local regulations.
  • Ensure application of appropriate accounting methods, policies, and principles.
  • Coordinate and complete statutory reporting and support annual audits.
  • Actively cooperate with other relevant teams like Payroll, Tax, HR, FP&A, and Controlling, as well as the international accounting team on the group level.
  • Provide relevant recommendations to local and group stakeholders regarding local operations.
  • Contribute to improving accounting processes and ensuring a scalable solution for our expanding accounting activities.
  • Support the group finance team and contribute to the success of global company initiatives.

  • Have a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field and experience with the operations of a local company that is part of a global group.
  • Have expertise in bookkeeping and reporting routines on an operational level and are also capable of delivering strategic insights.
  • Have supervisory or management experience.
  • Are detail-oriented, ensuring accuracy and precision in financial data and reports.
  • Are proficient with financial software and the Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced international environment, balancing multiple priorities with ease.
  • Are reliable, proactive and self-motivated.
  • Quickly grasp new processes.
  • Love building cross-departmental relationships and fostering a collaborative atmosphere.
  • Have expertise in local and international accounting standards, including financial instruments.
  • Have experience with statutory reporting and management accounting.
  • Have the ability to effectively communicate with various stakeholders.
  • Have leadership skills sufficient to organize effective communication within the team and company.
  • Are fluent in English, both written and spoken.
