Gearbox is looking for a talented Helpdesk Administrator to join our team!
This candidate will join a high performing helpdesk team in supporting our studio. You’ll be friendly and eager to dive into any problem thrown your way. You’ll be comfortable with a wide range of hardware and software, and rarely settle for the default settings. You’ll think automation first and manual second. You'll be a resource and mentor for the team, helping with some of the gnarliest problems. This individual must be self-starter and be willing to handle all manner of tasks with a positive attitude and a minimum of hand-holding. This position will require you to be on site at our Frisco office, carry a mobile device, and will occasionally require after-hours and weekend work.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support and assistance related to computer systems, hardware, and software
- Mentor other team members in technical matters and first-class support approaches
- What you might work on:
- A system to deploy PCs to employees in less than ten minutes
- A developer’s high-end PC with more RAM than you can shake a stick at (you get a good one too)
- An inventory system so you can find anything, anywhere, without leaving your desk
- Wired and wireless and VPN problems that defy your Googling skills
- A software deployment system to push the latest applications and system patches, within minutes
- All manner of gaming systems and developer kits
- Issues escalated by Helpdesk Technicians
Qualifications:
- Outstanding customer service and interaction skills, both verbal and written
- Strong history of start-to-finish hands-on support and creative problem solving
- Advanced troubleshooting experience with desktop PC hardware and peripherals
- In-depth experience with Windows OS and applications in a networked environment
- Experience with device management tools such as Microsoft InTune
- Proficient in Microsoft Administration tools (Active Directory, Group Policy)
- Familiarity with game development and design software (Autodesk, Adobe Creative Cloud, Unreal Engine)
- Strong communication skills, able to interact with both executive and non-executive studio team members, taking technical concepts and boiling them down as necessary
- Familiarity with an issue tracking system, including reporting and metrics (Jira preferred)
- Works well as part of a team in a fun, fast-paced environment
- Able to lift 50 pounds of awesome gear
Bonus Points For:
- Familiarity with Linux systems
- Familiarity with Mac systems
- Familiarity with TCP/IP networking
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Perforce
