Job Summary
Stord is seeking an ambitious HR professional to transition into an HR Business Partner role, focusing on the Research & Development organization while supporting the broader People Team. This dual role dedicates 60% to strategic partnership with R&D management, understanding their needs, analyzing workforce trends, and collaborating on retention. The remaining 40% involves hands-on generalist HR support for day-to-day operations, policy execution, employee inquiries, processing HR transactions, and managing employee relations for a global workforce, including employment sponsorship cases.
Must Have
- Bachelor’s degree in HRM or related field
- 3-5 years of progressive, hands-on HR generalist experience
- Develop advisor-like relationships with R&D leaders
- Hold regular meetings with R&D teams to understand business
- Analyze workforce trends and provide strategic insights
- Collaborate with offshore staffing partners on retention efforts
- Anticipate workforce needs and implement HR solutions
- Act as hands-on HRBP, supporting day-to-day HR operations
- Process HR transactions (promotions, transfers, terminations) with accuracy
- Support distributed and global employee relations matters
- Maintain and support employment sponsorship cases

About the Human Resource Business Partner Position:
We’re seeking an ambitious HR professional ready to make the critical transition to an HR Business Partner, helping to shape the future of our Research & Development organization and supporting the broader People Team.
Reporting to the Senior HRBP, this dual-focused role will dedicate approximately 60% of its time partnering with the R&D management team on strategic initiatives, and 40% to hands-on generalist and tactical HR support for the Senior HRBP and the broader corporate business.
The critical mission of this role is aligning and uniting the R&D department with the general culture of Stord by supporting a team of ultra high performers. This position offers a unique opportunity for a proven HR professional who is eager to take on strategic HR partnership in a fast-paced environment.
What You’ll Do:
Strategic R&D Partnership
- Develop advisor-like relationships with R&D leaders to become a trusted strategic partner
- Hold regular meetings with the leaders of the R&D teams at Stord to gain a deep knowledge of this sector of the business, understand pain points and areas of opportunity
- Analyze workforce trends and provide leadership with strategic insights to drive HR-related decisions.
- Collaboration with offshore staffing partners on retention efforts and strategy to unify everyone under one team
- Anticipate workforce needs and implement HR solutions that support business goals.
Tactical HR Support
- Act as a hands-on HRBP, supporting the Senior HRBP with day-to-day HR operations, policy execution, and employee inquiries across the corporate business.
- Process HR transactions such as promotions, transfers, terminations, and other changes with a high degree of accuracy
- Support a distributed and global employee population on employee relations matters, legal compliance,
- Maintain and support employment sponsorship cases
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in HRM or related field and 3-5 years of progressive, hands-on HR experience generalist
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with potential to influence and partner with leadership, up to a VP level
- Understanding of employment sponsorship/ visas
- Proficiency in HRIS platforms, particularly Workday, and advanced skills in Google Suite and Microsoft Office.
