PayPal, Inc. seeks Information Security Engineer 2 in Austin, TX
Job Duties: Design, implement and build resilient, configurable, and scalable backend API’s (Application Programming Interfaces) using object-oriented design principles and various software development tools. Write high quality code, on time that meets the customer’s expectations and is quickly understood and easily supported and maintained by others. Implement next generation platform security products to enable PayPal's product development. Implement, and test next generation AppSec products as part of SDLC. Perform quality code reviews to validate against the secure coding guidelines, ensuring that the code conforms to the design. Build products, tools, and services from scratch, as well as evolving existing systems. Decomposes business requirements and translates them into detailed design specifications and code. Implement automated test cases to support code and project requirements for use with our Continuous Integration (CI) pipeline. Become fiercely Agile, using Scrum to deliver features to production. Apply your technical expertise to guide the team in making intelligent and pragmatic design decisions. Nurture highly effective relationships with internal business partners such as product management, technical teams, systems operations, and service and support. Help identify and develop ways to improve our team's efficiency by expanding on our existing tools and processes. Support production issues, includes independently completing root-cause analysis and diagnosis. Lead/conduct detailed code-reviews and provides feedback in a constructive manner. Mentor junior engineers and interns as they develop their application development skills. Take lead on projects with little to no additional direction from engineering/product leadership, drive and help track them to completion. Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field plus two years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
