Job Summary
This 6-month internship at Thales, located in Chatellerault, France, focuses on the deployment of surface treatment technologies and processes. The intern will contribute to the qualification phase of new chemical treatment solutions for electrolytic deposition, ensuring compliance with REACH regulations. Responsibilities include building a state of the art, identifying needs, defining specifications, conducting experiments, writing validation reports, and creating justification documents. This role is crucial for securing and sustaining production within the Avionics GBU's FLX Business Line, addressing challenges with regulated, obsolete, or supply-constrained chemical products.
Must Have
- Build the state of the art and bibliography
- Identify needs and input data from stakeholders

- Set up an experimental plan and conduct tests
- Synthesize and write validation reports
- Establish a justification document for the validation of new surface treatment solutions
- BAC+5 student in chemistry (materials, analytical, applied)
- Solid knowledge in materials chemistry and surface treatment (conversion, anodization, electrolytic deposition, etc.)
- Experience participating in a team qualification project

Within the FLX Business Line of the Avionics GBU, projects on regulated chemical products (e.g., REACH), obsolete or with strained supply, secure and sustain production for ramp-up. For surface treatment technology, the challenge is to provide justifications to validate and implement new chemical treatment solutions for electrolytic deposition compliant with REACH.
You will contribute, within the project team, to the qualification phase of new surface treatment solutions by:
- Building the state of the art and bibliography
- Identifying needs and input data from stakeholders
- Defining specifications
- Setting up an experimental plan and conducting tests
- Synthesizing and writing validation reports
- Establishing a justification document for the validation of new surface treatment solutions
Your profile:
Are you a BAC+5 student looking for a 6-month internship in the field of chemistry (materials, analytical, applied)?
Do you have solid knowledge in materials chemistry and surface treatment (conversion, anodization, electrolytic deposition, etc.)?
Have you already participated in a team qualification project?
