Job Description

This internship aims to enhance environmental indicator services in urban areas for drone flight by improving an existing 3D simulator. The objective is to merge GNSS and weather indicators while enriching result exploitation. The intern will conduct a state-of-the-art review, propose architecture and algorithm solutions, and develop a framework for calculating a GNSS-equivalent weather indicator. Methods for GNSS/Weather hybridization will be designed and visualized, with results integrated into the Thales platform. The role also explores technical improvements like GPU exploitation and advanced 3D visualization.
Must Have:
  • Perform a 6-month internship
  • Improve knowledge in GNSS signal and weather data
  • Be pursuing an Engineering degree or equivalent (Bac +5)
  • Experience in Python and/or C/C++ programming for scientific and algorithmic development
  • Experience in data management and calculation optimization
  • Experience in applied mathematics (probabilities, statistics, simulation)

Your daily life

By joining the Toulouse site, you will integrate a site bringing together our sovereign cyber defense solutions to face growing cyber threats and our digital services activities enabling us to operate our clients' critical information systems and support them in their secure digital transformation.

This internship aims to strengthen environmental indicator services in urban areas for drone flight, by improving an existing 3D simulator. The objective is to merge GNSS and weather indicators, while enriching the exploitation of results. After conducting a state-of-the-art review on weather simulations and their valorization, the intern will propose architecture and algorithm solutions for the simulator. They will develop a framework allowing, notably, the calculation of a GNSS-equivalent weather indicator, in order to qualify the weather by cluster and facilitate the interpretation of results. GNSS/Weather hybridization methods will be designed and illustrated by innovative visualizations, such as heatmaps and fused indicators. The integration of results will be done on the Thales platform, with storage and interactive dashboards. Finally, the internship will explore technical improvement areas, including GPU exploitation and advanced 3D visualization of flows.

Do you have the ambition to perfect your knowledge in GNSS signal and weather data?

You are preparing an Engineering degree or an equivalent Bac +5 and you have experience in:

  • Python and/or C/C++ programming for scientific and algorithmic development,
  • Data management and calculation optimization,
  • Applied mathematics (probabilities, statistics, simulation),
  • Fluid mechanics and atmospheric physics simulation.
