Pentair Industrial Solutions is seeking a Project Engineer in Venlo, The Netherlands, to join its growing Biogas area. This role involves process engineering for customer projects, focusing on process design based on PFDs from the Technology Group. The Project Engineer ensures high-quality, timely completion of engineering tasks, adheres to material costs and engineering hours, and supports reporting. The position requires collaboration with various teams and suppliers, and contributing technical expertise to projects.
Must Have

- Develop design solutions for sub-assemblies

- Set up detailed P&IDs, component and line lists in COMOS
- Exchange information with other teams and departments
- Prepare information for installation/maintenance instructions and operation manuals
- Set up drawings and supporting documents for plant documentation
- Contribute technical knowledge as a subject matter expert
- Bachelor's in Process, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
- 3-5 years experience as Process Engineer, preferably in Oil & (Bio)Gas Industry
- Experience working in a project team
- Knowledge of relevant guidelines and norms
- Advanced English level
- Independent, proactive, flexible, determined, resilient to stress

- Creative in finding solutions, strong commitment to quality
- Good communication skills with customer-oriented mindset

Pentair Industrial Solutions business unit is experiencing significant growth. One of Pentair’s strategic growth pillars is the Biogas area. The projects will be engineered and produced at our Pentair sites or at an approved supplier. Pentair - Sustainable Gas Solutions (SGS) is specialized within CO₂ recovery solutions and Biogas upgrading solution. Pentair helps its clients to lower their carbon footprint and energy bills, and currently we serve customers in more than 150 countries worldwide. PROCESS / CHEMICAL / MECHANICAL ENGINEER (m/f/d)
OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION
The Project Engineer will be (partially) responsible for the process engineering in the customer projects to do the process design for the plant based on the PFDs prepared by the Technology Group (R&D).
The Project Engineer ensures good quality and timely completion of the engineering together with the project team.
The Project Engineer reports to the Project Engineering Team Leader Biogas.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Order management: Support Lead Project Engineers; ensure good quality and timely completion of the engineering; ensure that material costs are adhered to; ensure that total process engineering hours (costs) are adhered to; support reporting.
- Machine / Component dimensioning: Calculation of technical data for detailed material / component specifications – e.g., flow, pressure loss and performance calculations; set up of order specifications for purchasing.
- Design solutions: Develop design solutions for sub-assemblies based on the product portfolio; Implement the design in compliance with the law and standards / with the required implementation regulations at the place of use/installation of the plant; set up solution drafts ready to be drafted - considering functional, material, manufacturing, HSE and economic aspects as well as an evaluation and comparison with existing designs; select minor components; Set up of detailed P&IDs, component and line lists in the defined Engineering Tool (COMOS); Act as a subject matter expert for defined components
- Communication & exchange of information: Exchange of information with the other teams and specialist departments, (e.g., alignment of detail design with mechanical engineering & automation, supply chain and assembly, field assembly and commissioning; as well as suppliers)
- Documentation & risk assessments: Preparation of additional information for installation / maintenance instructions and operation manuals; Set up of drawings and supporting documents for the plant documentation; handle Project Documentation Templates and Deliverables
- Contributing technical knowledge to other departments and projects in the role of a subject matter expert
QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCES
- Process, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering - Bachelor Level or equivalent qualification
- Knowledge of tools such as Process Engineering Software (e.g., Comos), PLM Software, ERP Software, MS Office, Special Calculation Tools.
- 3-5 years of experience minimum as a Process Engineer or equivalent role preferable in the Oil & (Bio)Gas Industry.
- Experiences on working in a project team.
- Knowledge of relevant guidelines and norms.
- Advanced level in English
- Independent, proactive, flexible and determined and resilient to stress.
