Job Summary
The RAMS Engineer is responsible for ensuring the reliability, availability, maintainability, and safety of HVDC systems throughout the project lifecycle. This role involves conducting RAMS analyses, developing compliance strategies, and supporting design, construction, and operational phases to meet international standards and customer requirements. Key responsibilities include performing RAMS analysis for HVDC systems, conducting FMEA, FTA, and RBD studies, creating RAMS documentation, and collaborating with design teams.
Must Have
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, Power Systems, or Reliability Engineering
- 3–7 years of experience in RAMS engineering, preferably in HVDC or power transmission projects
- Strong knowledge of RAMS methodologies (FMEA, FTA, RBD) and tools (e.g., Isograph)
- Familiarity with HVDC technology, converter stations, and grid integration
- Understanding of international standards (IEC, IEEE) and safety regulations
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills
- Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team and communicate effectively with stakeholders
Good to Have
- Certification in RAMS or Functional Safety
- Experience with digital twins, predictive maintenance, and SCADA systems
- Knowledge of cybersecurity aspects in HVDC control systems

Role Overview
The RAMS Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, availability, maintainability, and safety of HVDC systems throughout the project lifecycle. This role involves conducting RAMS analyses, developing compliance strategies, and supporting design, construction, and operational phases to meet international standards and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, and Safety (RAMS) analysis for HVDC systems, including converter stations, cables, and control systems
- Conduct FMEA, FTA, and Reliability Block Diagram (RBD) studies for critical components
- Develop and maintain RAMS documentation, including reports, risk assessments, and compliance matrices
- Support Hazard Analysis, HAZOP, and SIL assessments for HVDC protection and control systems
- Ensure compliance with IEC standards (e.g., IEC 61850, IEC 62559) and relevant HVDC safety regulations
- Collaborate with design teams to integrate RAMS requirements into system architecture
- Provide input for maintenance strategies, spare parts planning, and predictive maintenance programs
- Participate in testing, commissioning, and reliability validation activities
- Interface with stakeholders to present RAMS findings and recommendations
