Job Description

As a Safety Engineer for MCGM Projects and Services, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety of all personnel working on heavy engineering and construction projects in Mumbai. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and enforcing comprehensive safety policies and procedures, conducting regular safety audits and risk assessments, and providing safety training to all project personnel. Your responsibilities will include: * Ensuring compliance with Maharashtra's legal statutes and regulations regarding safety. * Formulating and enforcing robust safety policies, protocols, and procedures. * Conducting thorough safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments. * Delivering comprehensive safety training and awareness initiatives to all project personnel. * Investigating accidents, incidents, and near misses. * Collaborating with project managers, engineers, and contractors to integrate safety considerations into project planning and execution. * Maintaining meticulous records and documentation related to safety activities. * Staying current on evolving safety regulations and best practices. * Acting as a primary point of contact for safety-related inquiries and emergencies. * Cultivating a proactive safety culture. * Conducting daily Gemba walks to identify unsafe conditions and behaviors. * Supervising the approval of critical lifting plans. * Demonstrating expertise in ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards.

Must have:

Expertise in Maharashtra's safety regulations
Strong knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001
Excellent training abilities in industrial safety
Proven ability to conduct safety audits and risk assessments
Experience in developing and implementing safety policies and procedures
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in safety documentation and record keeping

Good to have:

Experience in heavy engineering and construction projects
Knowledge of safe material handling practices
Experience in conducting investigations of accidents and incidents
Experience in working with contractors and subcontractors
Experience in using safety management software

Description

Ensure meticulous adherence to Maharashtra's legal statutes and regulations concerning safety across heavy engineering and construction projects in Mumbai.
Formulate, deploy, and rigorously enforce comprehensive safety policies, protocols, and procedures in alignment with local legislations and industry benchmarks.
Conduct systematic and thorough safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to pinpoint potential hazards and swiftly implement corrective measures.
Deliver comprehensive safety training and awareness initiatives to all project personnel, including contractors and subcontractors, fostering an ethos of safety excellence.
Conduct thorough investigations into accidents, incidents, and near misses, devising robust strategies to mitigate the likelihood of recurrence.
Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and contractors to seamlessly integrate safety considerations into all aspects of project planning and execution.
Maintain meticulous records and documentation pertaining to safety activities, incidents, and compliance endeavors.
Remain abreast of evolving safety regulations, cutting-edge technologies, and best practices to continually enhance safety performance onsite.
Act as a primary point of contact for safety-related inquiries, concerns, and emergencies, facilitating seamless communication among all stakeholders.
Cultivate a proactive safety culture by actively encouraging hazard reporting, participation in safety initiatives, and a commitment to continuous improvement efforts.
Must possess excellent training abilities, particularly in the realm of industrial safety.
Conduct daily Gemba walks to identify unsafe conditions and behaviors, implementing risk mitigation programs promptly.
Possess expertise in safe material handling practices and oversee the approval of critical lifting plans.
Highly proficient in ISO 45001 occupational health and safety standards, as well as possessing a strong understanding of ISO 14001 environmental management systems.
