Job Summary
The Senior Enterprise Governance Manager at SS&C’s Australian business is responsible for designing, enhancing, and overseeing the governance framework. This role involves managing day-to-day governance obligations, regulatory reporting, and corporate records, while also overseeing Board and Committee meetings. The manager will maintain and implement governance and risk policies, manage conflict frameworks, and support corporate insurance. They will monitor regulatory developments, foster a positive governance culture, and explore technology solutions to enhance governance processes, collaborating with senior stakeholders to mitigate risks.
Must Have
- Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of the governance framework.
- Serve as Company Secretary, managing day-to-day governance obligations, regulatory reporting, ASIC filings, corporate records, and payment of levies and fees.
- Oversee the preparation and management of Board and Committee agendas, papers, and meetings.
- Manage the fit-and-proper process for Directors and Responsible Managers.
- Maintain, update, and implement governance and risk policies.
- Oversee the Conflict Management Framework, conduct conflict assessments, and report trends.
- Manage corporate insurance for SS&C GIDS AU.
- Support client presentations, RFPs/RFIs, and due diligence requests.
- Monitor regulatory and industry developments (APRA, ASIC, AUSTRAC).
- Foster a positive governance culture across the organisation.
- Explore and implement technology, AI, and automation solutions to enhance governance processes.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders.
- Collaborate with business leaders to ensure governance requirements are consistently applied and managed.
- At least 8 years’ experience in governance, compliance, risk management, or a related discipline within financial services.
- Deep knowledge of risk and compliance frameworks, methodologies, and emerging best practices.
- Strong understanding of the Australian regulatory landscape, including the SIS Act, Corporations Act, AML/CTF Act, Privacy Act.
- Proven ability to analyse complex issues, exercise sound judgment, and drive effective solutions.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence, engage, and build confidence with senior stakeholders.
- Strategic mindset with experience shaping and communicating governance or risk strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to balance local regulatory requirements within a global group structure and manage competing jurisdictional needs.
- Strong commitment to integrity, ethical conduct, and compliance with all legal and internal obligations.
Good to Have
- Tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, Law, or a related field preferred.
- Strong interest in technology and openness to exploring AI-based enhancements in compliance.
- Exposure to global regulatory environments is highly regarded.

What You Will Get To Do:
The Senior Enterprise Governance Manager is responsible for designing, enhancing, and overseeing the governance framework across SS&C’s Australian business. Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer, this role works closely with stakeholders across local and global GIDS teams to ensure strong governance practices, operational alignment with global standards, and continuous improvement across all governance activities. It plays a key role in strengthening organisational accountability, supporting regulatory obligations, and fostering a consistent, high-quality governance culture across the enterprise.
- Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of the governance framework within SS&C GIDS AU, ensuring alignment with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Serve as Company Secretary, managing day-to-day governance obligations, regulatory reporting, ASIC filings, corporate records, and payment of levies and fees.
- Oversee the preparation and management of Board and Committee agendas, papers, and meetings, working closely with the Chief Risk Officer and Directors.
- Manage the fit-and-proper process for Directors and Responsible Managers, including ongoing assessments, training registers, and governance training for new Responsible Persons.
- Maintain, update, and implement governance and risk policies, ensuring alignment with best practice frameworks and evolving regulatory expectations.
- Oversee the Conflict Management Framework, conduct conflict assessments, and report trends to the relevant Board or Committee.
- Manage corporate insurance for SS&C GIDS AU in collaboration with the global Corporate Insurance Director.
- Support client presentations, RFPs/RFIs, and due diligence requests, liaising with Risk and Compliance to provide accurate information.
- Monitor regulatory and industry developments, including updates from APRA, ASIC, AUSTRAC, and others, to ensure policies and processes reflect evolving standards and best practices.
- Foster a positive governance culture across the organisation, encouraging proactive practices and continuous improvement.
- Explore and implement technology, AI, and automation solutions to enhance governance processes and framework effectiveness.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders, including the Executive Leadership Team, global leaders, and business heads, providing strategic guidance and governance oversight.
- Collaborate with business leaders to ensure governance requirements are consistently applied and managed, mitigating operational, regulatory, and reputational risks.
What You Will Bring:
- At least 8 years’ experience in governance, compliance, risk management, or a related discipline within financial services.
- Tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, Law, or a related field preferred, supported by ongoing professional development.
- Strong interest in technology and openness to exploring AI-based enhancements in compliance
