About the job

Your mission:

Your mission is to pioneer the creation of stylistically distinct and visually captivating environments that define the world in our AAA title. As part of Genpop—a small but powerful team—you'll stretch the limits of both artistic expression and technical capabilities to craft settings that are more than mere backdrops; they are intricately designed worlds that enhance storytelling and gameplay.

Responsibilities:

  • Construct, and texture intricate 3D environments that reflect a unique artistic style, while meeting technical requirements.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with concept artists, designers, and programmers to integrate the visual elements seamlessly into the gameplay experience.

  • Lead the development of stylistic assets such as props, architecture, and organic elements, mindful of performance and memory constraints.

  • Critically review and provide feedback on environment assets and scenes to ensure a cohesive and distinct visual style.

  • Engage in strategic planning, helping to define the workflow, toolkit, and quality benchmarks for the environment art team.

  • Oversee optimization tasks, marrying stunning visuals with performance efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of professional experience in 3D environment art, with a focus on stylized rather than realistic designs.

  • Proficiency in industry-standard software like Maya, 3ds Max, and Photoshop.

  • Exceptional skills in form, shape, structure, and silhouette in terms of modeling.

  • Advanced texturing abilities, coupled with expert painting techniques for maps such as diffuse, specular, and normal.

  • A deep understanding of lighting techniques to accentuate mood, spotlight key elements, and boost the overall visual appeal of stylistic 3D environments.
  • Experience using UE5.

Nice to Have:

  • An active portfolio featuring a diverse range of high-quality, stylistically varied 3D art.

  • Strong communication skills, enabling you to clearly articulate artistic visions and project requirements.

  • An active interest in Esports.
