We're hiring for a Mission Design to join the team working on an exciting new open world IP. As a Mission Designer you will be responsible for you will be responsible for designing and creating missions, quests, and content experiences for an immersive narrative driven, open world game.

Responsibilities

  • Design player progression systems (equipment, behaviour tree etc) and any other progression system related to PVE and PVP narrative goals.
  • Collaborate with game designers, narrative designers, and artists to create engaging and immersive gameplay experiences for players
  • Work with programmers to ensure that implemented content functions as intended
  • Consider new design ideas and investigate their implementation (new gameplay, AI, cameras, audio, text, objectives, etc.)
  • Write and maintain design documentation that will serve as a reference to guide interdependent teams.
  • Balance the game (player, enemy, equipment statistics, etc.)

Job requirements

Required Experience:

  • Shipped a completed title as as a mission / narrative designer
  • Awareness of emerging trends and mechanics that inform modern multiplayer game design
  • Ability to analyse mechanics and apply them to current game design
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills including verbal and written skills

Important:

The interview process for the Mission Designer role is made up of 3 stages:

  • First interview (45 – 60 minutes) – An interview to discuss your experience and working history relating to the position with members of our Design team. In return, we will provide a full overview of the role, life at the studio as well as answer any questions you may have.
  • Second Interview (30 minutes) - An interview with our Studio Creative Director to discuss your experience, ways of working and the position on offer.
  • Final interview (30 minutes) – A final Interview with our Studio Head and Studio Production Director. This will be a chance for you to get to know the Senior Management team and all the things that make Lucid, Lucid! You will have a lot of opportunities to ask any questions about the studio and Culture.
