Job Description

This Software Engineer III role within Google's Connected Data and Analytics (CDNA) team focuses on general data warehousing. Responsibilities include writing and reviewing code, participating in design reviews, contributing to documentation, and troubleshooting system issues. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of full-stack development experience (Java, Python, Go, C++, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS), experience with data structures and algorithms, and experience in data management, integration, or a related domain. The role involves working on projects critical to Google's needs, offering opportunities for team and project switching. The team empowers engineering and business partners to deliver critical corporate functions. This is a full-time position.

Must have:

2+ years full-stack development experience
Data structures and algorithms experience
Data management/integration experience
SQL Pipelines experience
Code writing and review
Design review participation

Good to have:

Master's degree in CS or related field
Experience with advanced analytics
Data modeling and architecture knowledge
Knowledge in Finance, Supply Chain, or HR

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms in either an academic or industry setting.
2 years of experience with full stack development, across back-end such as Java, Python, GO, or C++ codebases, and front-end experience including JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML, CSS, etc.
Experience in Data Management or Data Integration or Data Domain, System Integration, Distributed Databases, SQL Pipelines.

Preferred qualifications:

Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
Experience working with advanced analytics solutions involving machine learning and statistical analytics.
Experience with conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling and data architecture.
Knowledge in one or more domains across Finance, Supply Chain, HR, and more.

Responsibilities

Write product or system development code.
Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide on available technologies.
Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
