Job Summary

TransUnion is seeking an SVP, CFO for U.S. Markets to lead finance and accounting activities, drive strategic initiatives, and manage professional teams. This role involves overseeing financial operations, preparing board presentations, supporting acquisition due diligence, and ensuring robust internal controls. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in finance and accounting leadership, strong analytical skills, and the ability to develop financial plans and forecasts while fostering collaboration and integrity within the team.

Must Have

  • 15+ years of professional experience with significant experience leading professional teams in finance and accounting.
  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Ability to build relationships and influence, set strategies, lead teams on complex initiatives, and execute for results.
  • At least 5-7 years supervisory experience managing a team of accounting or finance associates.
  • Must be able to apply knowledge of GAAP, FAS, Tax regulations (domestic and/or international), Sarbanes-Oxley.
  • Manage and oversee finance and accounting activities at the Business Unit level.
  • Prepare presentations and make strategy recommendations to the Board of Directors.
  • Manage Business Unit level accounting and finance operations.
  • Maintain ledger accounts and related activities for the production of financial statements and reports.
  • Balance books periodically and prepare profit and loss, income, and balance sheet statements.
  • Analyze basic financial statements to identify trends and interpret for senior management.
  • Complete management reporting to measure performance against key objectives and strategies.
  • Ensure financial statements adhere to all applicable accounting policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a robust internal control environment over these processes.
  • Develop all financial operating plans and forecasts for the business units supported.
  • Lead Finance & Accounting team by operating with the highest degree of integrity.

Impact You'll Make:

  • General responsibilities include the management and oversight of finance and accounting activities at the BU level through subordinate BU level management. Translate objectives into specific department objectives, assist the EVP with the development of the department's annual plan and conceptualizes long-range plans based on the business needs and directions of the company.
  • Prepare presentations and make strategy recommendations to the Board of Directors. Develop plans and resource allocation for the accomplishment of objectives. Understand policy-making decisions that will drive the general objectives of the assigned business function(s), develop the framework to guide processes and subsequent measures accordingly.
  • Assist in the identification and due diligence efforts for acquisition activity that compliments the BU operations. Functions as a subject matter expert and serves as a resource to internal and external customers who need advice to achieve the goals and objectives of their department.
  • Manage the Business Unit level accounting and finance operations to include the management of the BU accounting management team and associates with diverse experience levels that are expected to utilize and/or maintain one or a combination of general accounting systems.
  • Maintain ledger accounts and related activities for the production of financial statements and related reports. Provide record of assets, liabilities and other financial transactions. Balance books periodically and prepares profit and loss, income and balance sheet statements. Maintain receipts and disbursement reports. Analyze the basic financial (income statements, balance sheets, and statements of cash flow) to identify trends and interpret for senior management. Complete management reporting to measure performance against key objectives and strategies.
  • Ensures the preparation of the financial statements for the business units supported adheres to all applicable accounting policies and procedures. Responsible for maintaining a robust internal control environment over these processes to minimize fraud and to ensure that the financial statements are accurately stated. Leads all efforts to remediate any issues over accounting and internal controls or to enhance processes and procedures.
  • Develops all financial operating plans and forecasts for the business units supported by identifying the applicable drivers for the business that can be monitored, measured, and flexed accordingly. Ensures that Finance & Accounting team and business owners work in a highly collaborative manner in the development of all plans and forecasts. Provides extensive partnership and consulting services for each CM1 supported. Plays a meaningful role working with management to develop the business unit’s strategy. Needs to be able to balance being an advocate for the CM1 while having a perspective on the overall good of TransUnion. Is able to challenge the business and have candid discussions. Aligns team resources to support the needs of the business accordingly.
  • Leads Finance & Accounting team by operating with the highest degree of integrity while being an example of self-accountability and ownership for all business issues being worked on. Collaborates with peers on the Finance & Accounting team to ensure cross-functional issues are addressed. Continuously assesses talent on team and provides development opportunities. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Pay Scale Information:

The U.S. base salary range for this position is $225,800.00 - $474,300.00 *The salary range for this position reflects a reasonable estimate of the range of compensation for this job. At TransUnion, actual compensation is based on careful consideration of additional factors such as (but not limited to) an individual’s education, training, work experience, job-related skill set, location, and industry knowledge, as well as the scope and responsibilities of the position and market considerations.

Regular, fulltime non-sales positions may be eligible to participate in TransUnion’s annual bonus plan. Certain positions may be also eligible for long-term incentives and other payments based on applicable company guidance and plan documents.
