Job Description

As a Technical Program Manager at Google's Geo team, you'll leverage your technical expertise to lead intricate, multi-disciplinary projects from inception to completion. Responsibilities include contributing to and executing the Machine Intelligence strategy, collaborating with engineering teams, and managing cross-functional relationships. You'll build scalable, intelligent solutions for data production, driving adoption of Model Sustainment and AI Operations, and delivering ML projects. You'll also identify necessary processes, infrastructure, and tooling to scale ML services and increase user engagement. The role requires strong communication skills, the ability to navigate ambiguity, and a collaborative approach.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
  • 1+ years program/project management experience
  • Experience managing cross-functional projects
  • Machine learning/AI experience with data analytics
  • Excellent communication skills
Good to have:
  • Experience solving machine learning challenges
  • Ability to handle ambiguity and make trade-offs

Job Details

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, other technical related fields, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 1 year of experience in program or project management.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 1 year of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience in solving machine learning or artificial intelligence challenges involving data analytics and statistics.
  • Ability to take initiative and make trade-offs in an ambiguous, fast-changing environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with technical and non-technical global, cross-functional groups.

You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

The Geo team also enables developers to use the power of Google Maps platforms to enhance their apps and websites. As they plot a course for the future of mapping, they are solving complex computer science problems, designing beautiful and intuitive product experiences, and improving our understanding of the real world.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to and execute Machine Intelligence strategy in collaboration with Engineering teams, and manage cross-functional relationships across Engineering, Operations, and Geo Data Operations.
  • Build scalable and intelligent solutions to produce data that forms the center of Google Maps’ consumer and enterprise user needs.
  • Drive adoption of Model Sustainment and AI Operations, develop and deliver Machine Learning projects from conception to implementation.
  • Identify processes, infrastructure, and tooling requirements to scale Machine Learning services and grow engagement.
