Job Summary

As a Workpackage Manager, you are responsible for the management of work packages for customer projects in the field of mobile radar systems. You will work closely with engineering (also international), purchasing, project managers, external and internal partners, and customers. Your mission includes planning and coordinating engineering activities, prioritizing tasks, resource management, technical support, monitoring technical progress, ensuring the application of Thales processes, and presenting project status to stakeholders.

Must Have

  • Planning and coordination of engineering activities in projects to ensure milestones are met
  • Prioritization of tasks and resource management in your project
  • Technical support, especially in coordination with external partners, technical support for purchasing and configuration management
  • Monitoring of technical activities (technical progress vs. planning, estimated costs at completion vs. cost baseline)
  • Accompanying the HW/SW/SE development process to ensure the application of Thales processes
  • Contact person for your work package for customers, end-users or third parties (integrators, suppliers)
  • Presentation of project status to internal stakeholders and customers

Your Mission

  • Planning and coordination of engineering activities in projects to ensure that milestones are met
  • Prioritization of tasks and resource management in your project
  • Technical support, especially in coordination with external partners, technical support for purchasing and configuration management
  • Monitoring of technical activities (technical progress vs. planning, estimated costs at completion vs. cost baseline)
  • Accompanying the HW/SW/SE development process to ensure the application of Thales processes
  • Contact person for your work package for customers, end-users or third parties (integrators, suppliers)
  • Presentation of project status to internal stakeholders and customers

What we look forward to

  • Master's degree in a technical field, ideally with a focus on radar or comparable qualification
  • Relevant experience in Engineering Management, ideally in the Defense Industry
  • Relevant experience in an international environment
  • Experience in Configuration Management is an advantage
  • Knowledge in planning engineering activities (incl. cost estimation)
  • Knowledge of relevant norms and standards in the defense or aviation sector (e.g., MIL-STD-810 or STANAG 4370 AECTP 300/400)
  • High customer orientation, very good communication skills and ability to lead laterally
  • Ability to work with colleagues from different areas (Engineering, Industry, Technology, Project and Product Management) both nationally and internationally
  • Understanding of business objectives
  • Fluent German and English skills
