Overview

As a QA Manager you will oversee all aspects of software testing operations for EverMerge. You will conceptualize the right quality program to support development of EverMerge and continuously drive team maturity. You will have experience with creating & evolving quality assurance processes, developing overarching test strategies, providing regular status updates with project metric data to stakeholders, establishing & maintaining relationships with external QA partners, and driving the mindset of QA as a discipline. The role of QA Manager often calls for adaptability and flexibility on a day-by-day basis, and partners with game team leaders and the QA Director to look to the future and prepare the team for continued success.

What You'll Do

  • Develop, implement, and regularly iterate upon QA processes, programs, and activities
  • Seek out and deploy new tools and automation opportunities
  • Drive upstream quality and a shift-left mindset
  • Work closely with management to develop, monitor, and meet departmental and company KPIs
  • Communicate to peers & stakeholders on test strategies, game client risks, and mitigation plans
  • Partner with Production to define quality and risk for each release
  • Participate in analyzing the trends in live issues and assist in the planning and resolution of said issues
  • Conduct or participate in sprint retrospectives, pre-mortems, and post-mortems
  • Conduct regular one-on-ones with direct reports, providing clear feedback and support
  • Manage the professional growth & development of Lead- and Senior- level personnel
  • Assist with the onboarding and training of new QA staff

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of software test management experience in a live operations environment
  • Experience with tracking sprint metrics (bug burndown, defect escape rates, etc.) and GaaS monitoring metrics (crash rates, ANR rates, etc.)
  • Experience with creating test materials, including documentation of best practices, and advocacy of strategies for effective testing and increasing quality
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams
  • Experience working with outsourced QA vendors and managing offshore and/or remote QA teams
  • Proven success with coaching, mentoring, and supporting career growth for direct reports
  • Proven experience using data to drive quality decisions
  • Familiarity with test management tools such as JIRA and TestRail
