As a Senior Staff Software Engineer, you will be a technical leader focused on Advertiser Growth for Small to Medium Businesses (SMB). You'll develop the technical foundation, collaborate with various teams like product, design, and sales, and contribute to the success of SMBs on Reddit. Your responsibilities include identifying growth opportunities, building technical foundations, leading projects from concept to rollout, and mentoring staff. You'll be a key player in achieving Reddit's ambitious goals of increasing the number of monthly active advertisers. This role involves iterative building, rapid shipping, and rigorous testing to enhance the platform's capabilities for SMBs. You will have the chance to work with a team through a period of worldwide user growth.
Must have:
  • 7+ years of professional experience as a Software Engineer.
  • Led complex, cross-departmental projects impacting business metrics.
  • 4+ years of experience in B2B Growth product engineering.
  • Experience with experimentation and data-informed decision making.
  • Able to lead a full stack development team.
  • A proven track record of delivering high impact products.
  • Capable of designing, implementing, testing, and launching complex product and infrastructure changes.
  • Strong ability to deliver through others and hands-on work.
  • An adept communicator with experience working with many different teams.

Reddit is seeking a Senior Staff Engineer as a technical leader for our Small to Medium Business (SMB) focused Advertiser Growth efforts.  In this role, you will be responsible for developing the technical foundation for mission critical product pillars, collaborating across the company to deliver outcomes for the Reddit Ads Business. This role provides an opportunity to partner closely with cross-functional teams such as product, design, marketing, data science, UX and Sales, and ultimately make a large number of small to medium businesses successful on Reddit. As a technical leader for all of these efforts, you will set the engineering strategy for building iteratively, shipping quickly, testing rigorously, and adding step-change capabilities towards our ambitious goals of multiplying many times over our number of monthly active advertisers. This is an exciting moment in Reddit’s journey where we have the knowledge, resources and infrastructure to bring Reddit’s unique conversations product to more people and help more small businesses be successful on our platform. Responsibilities: * Identify opportunities to make more advertisers successful on the platform by acquiring, activating, and retaining monthly active advertisers * Build and enhance the correct technical foundations for the business, including choosing the right tools and technologies and working with other teams towards a shared engineering vision * Lead projects from concept, design, implementation, to rollout, ensuring the highest quality and performance. * Bring in ideas to solve our ambitious growth goals for the platform * Collaborate with product managers, designers, product marketing managers, data scientists, sales, marketing, Consumer (reddit.com) teams, and more to solve problems for SMB advertisers end-to-end. * Mentor staff engineers and leaders, share industry knowledge, and contribute to the technical growth of the team. Required Qualifications: * 7+ years of professional experience as a Software Engineer. A technical leader who has led complex, cross-departmental projects that impact critical business metrics * 4+ years of experience working across B2B Growth product engineering teams.
