We are currently seeking a Senior or Principal Technical Artist with expertise in Unreal Engine and a passion for mentoring others to join our talented team.
 
As a Senior/Principal Technical Artist, you will have the opportunity to work in AAA projects, utilizing your technical artistry to automate tasks, enhance processes, and develop cutting-edge solutions and tools. Your role will be pivotal in pushing technological boundaries while coaching and supporting junior team members in our Middlesbrough office. 

In this role you will :

    • Develop Solutions: Create best practices, tools, and innovative solutions to solve complex problems.
    • Asset Reuse: Promote the reuse of assets, knowledge, and tools across multiple projects.
    • Technical Expertise: Ensure the team has the technical skills required for project success.
    • Innovate Technology: Constantly push the limits of technology to achieve the best visual results.
    • Facilitate Communication: Establish strong communication channels between creative and technical teams.
    • Optimize Performance: Profile and implement solutions to enhance performance and optimize art assets without compromising artistic vision.
    • Pipeline Management: Develop, update, and maintain technical pipelines, tools, and workflows for artists and projects studio wide.
    • Mentorship: Support and coach junior team members, fostering their growth and development.

What we're looking for :

    •  Experience: 6+ years as a Technical Artist in the gaming industry, with at least one AAA title shipped.
    • Unreal Engine: Proficiency with Unreal Engine; experience with other game engines is a plus.
    • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of 3D modeling, textures, frames, animation, lighting, special effects, and scripts.
    • Optimization: Expertise in optimizing game assets and improving art pipelines and visual quality.
    • Procedural Systems: Knowledge of procedural systems and dynamic lighting challenges.
    • Real-Time Graphics: Technical knowledge of real-time 3D graphics and digital content creation pipelines.
    • Hardware Understanding: Solid grasp of rendering hardware on multiple platforms, specifically PC and consoles.
    • Mentorship Experience: Proven track record of coaching and supporting junior team members.
    • Next-Gen Techniques: Comprehensive understanding of current and next-gen art pipelines and techniques in game development, including: Nanite and virtualized geometry, raytracing and real-time global illumination, advanced procedural tool design and content generation, AI and Machine Learning, high-resolution asset creation, physically based rendering (PBR) and stylized texturing workflows.
