Job Description

PayPay is seeking a PMO (Project Management Office) Manager to plan and execute cross-organizational reforms to support its sustained growth. This role encompasses a broad and critical scope, from product development and internal systems to managing the overall PayPay Group roadmap. The ideal candidate will lead the optimization and value maximization of the entire organization with flexible ideas, unconstrained by conventional thinking. The System PMO will manage the company-wide roadmap, collaborating closely with Product Development, System Divisions, and PayPay Group stakeholders to ensure project success. This includes project management, process building/improvement, and promoting AI technology adoption.
Good To Have:
  • Experience introducing AI into internal operations (e.g., for efficiency, knowledge management).
  • Data aggregation and analysis skills (e.g., Snowflake data management, Sigma or Superset dashboard creation).
  • Track record of promoting standardization of business processes and smooth communication across group companies.
  • Project management or agile development certifications (e.g., PMP®, PRINCE2®, Scrum Master, SAFe®).
Must Have:
  • Practical experience in Web/IT industry, or to-C app or in-house system development industry.
  • 3+ years experience in product management or project management, especially managing multiple projects with deadlines.
  • Practical experience using AI.
  • Basic SQL knowledge and practical experience.
  • Experience in process automation (e.g., Google Apps Script, Python, RPA tools).
  • Ability to proactively identify problems and drive solutions, not just wait for instructions.
  • Ability to actively learn new knowledge and technologies, and adapt flexibly to a fast-changing environment.
  • Business-level English conversation without interpreter support.
  • Native-level Japanese or JLPT N1 equivalent.

About the Role

PayPay has established an overwhelming No. 1 position in Japan's cashless payment market and aims for further growth. To support PayPay's sustainable growth, we are looking for a PMO (Project Management Office) Manager who can plan and execute cross-organizational reforms. This position plays a very broad and important role, from product development to internal systems, and even the operation of the entire PayPay Group roadmap. We are looking for someone who can lead the optimization and maximization of value for the entire organization with flexible ideas, unconstrained by conventional thinking.

The System PMO is responsible for operating the company-wide roadmap, which forms the core of PayPay's growth strategy. The mission is to work closely with stakeholders across the Product Development Division, System Division, and the entire PayPay Group to lead various projects to success. This is a critical role that leads corporate transformation, not only in project management but also in building and improving company-wide processes and promoting the introduction of AI technology.

Specific Job Responsibilities

  • Roadmap Management: Planning, operation, and continuous improvement of roadmap plans for the System Division, Product Division, and the entire PayPay Group.
  • Project Management: Progress management, issue identification, and solution promotion for important projects within the System Division.
  • Reporting: Creation and reporting of regular reporting materials to management and department heads.
  • Process Improvement: Leading the introduction, standardization, and continuous improvement activities of company-wide business processes.
  • AI Introduction Promotion: Planning the introduction of AI into company-wide processes and daily operations to promote operational efficiency and innovation.

Required Experience/Skills

  • Practical experience in the Web/IT industry, or in the to-C app or in-house system development industry.
  • 3+ years of experience in product management or project management (especially experience managing multiple projects with deadlines simultaneously).
  • Practical experience using AI.
  • Basic SQL knowledge and practical experience.
  • Experience in process automation (e.g., Google Apps Script, Python, RPA tools).

  • Language Proficiency:
  • English (business level conversation without interpreter support).

  • Hybrid Workstyle (office, home, or satellite office for remote work)
  • Attendance at the office/remote work will be in accordance with the rules and work instructions of the affiliated organization.
  • Use of satellite offices will be in accordance with the rules of the affiliated department.

Working Hours

  • Super Flex System (no core time)
  • Principle: 9:00 AM - 5:45 PM (7 hours 45 minutes actual work + 1 hour break)

Holidays

  • Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays, year-end and New Year holidays, and company-designated days.

Leave (Statutory Leave and Company Benefits)

  • Annual paid leave (14 days in the first year, prorated according to the joining month. Usable from the date of joining).

Salary

  • Annual salary system (includes some fixed overtime pay).

  • Special bonus (incentive) paid once a year based on company performance and individual contribution.
  • Overtime work allowance and late-night work allowance available.
  • Part of the salary can be received in a PayPay account (supports digital salary payment).
