The Auto Sheet Metal Technician is responsible for repairing and replacing damaged vehicle parts (bumpers, fenders, sheet metal, chassis) to meet or exceed original factory standards. Responsibilities include vehicle disassembly and damage analysis, frame straightening and repair according to factory specifications, body part removal and installation (including suspension, electrical, and airbags), surface preparation for painting, reassembly, final alignments, and quality inspection. The ideal candidate possesses 5+ years of experience with an OEM 4S auto body shop, working with aluminum vehicles. They must be skilled in restoring damaged sheet metal or plastic to company standards, proficient with repair techniques and tools, possess strong attention to detail, and demonstrate excellent organizational skills. The role requires physical capabilities (lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, etc.) and knowledge of corrosion protection techniques. Global travel for training and assistance at other Tesla locations may be required.
