Summary

The Coating Technician at Allied Machine & Engineering prepares customer products for coating using standardized methods. This role requires analytical thinking and creativity to manage chamber loads based on specifications, making critical processing decisions. Responsibilities include daily equipment maintenance, fixture/de-fixture of batches, inspection, data entry into ALPS software, optimizing equipment use, addressing quality concerns, following procedures, training others, and maintaining a 5S workspace. The schedule is a rotating 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on pattern, including every other weekend, from 5:00 pm to 5:00 am. Physical requirements include lifting 40 lbs. The position involves communication with other technicians to ensure smooth workflow.

Description

Allied Machine & Engineering, headquartered in Dover, Ohio, is a leading manufacturer of hole making and finishing cutting tool systems. Our tooling solutions deliver the lowest cost per hole in a wide range of applications.

The Coating Technician pre-treats a variety of customer products using standardized methods to prepare products for coating. He/she uses analytical thinking and a high degree of creativity to oversee and assemble chamber loads based on customer specifications. As part of his/her regular responsibilities, this person will make critical processing decisions, to initiate the coating process as well as be responsible for disassembling and reconfiguring the chamber for subsequent loads. The position also entails communicating between Incoming/Outgoing and other Coating Technicians in order to maintain proper, uninterrupted workflow.

Permanent Hours: 5:00pm - 5:00am (Crew D)

Training Hours: 5:00am - 1:30pm

Schedule: Work 2 days, off 2 days, work 3 days - working every other weekend

 

Responsibilities

 

•     Perform daily changeover maintenance of pre/post treatment equipment

•     Fixture/De-fixture batches.

•     Inspect and measure test pieces.

•     Input data into ALPS software system.

•     Optimize the daily use of production equipment (Flex schedule & weekends)

•     Work with Quality Coordinator and Center Manager to identify and address quality concerns

•     Follow standard procedures and interpret Allied work instructions

•     Provide training and assistance to other employees on equipment operation and maintenance

•     Learn new skills and Cross-train intovarious departments

•     Individual must have strong work ethic, be detail-oriented, and creative

•     Must be comfortable working with hands and be able to lift 40lbs

•     Maintain 5S in designated area

•     Other duties as required
