Job Description

This Customer Engineer role focuses on delivering helpful solutions to Federal Civilian Agencies. Responsibilities include identifying business and technical requirements, architecting client solutions, leading technical projects, and delivering product messaging through presentations and documentation. The role involves collaborating with internal teams and customers, conducting proof-of-concept work, and providing best practice advice to optimize Google Cloud Platform effectiveness. Significant travel to customer sites, conferences, and events is expected. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with cloud-native architecture, experience presenting to technical and executive stakeholders, and a strong understanding of relevant regulatory frameworks like FedRAMP and FISMA.

  • Experience with Federal Civilian agencies

  • Solution architecture & design
Good to have:
  • Experience with API management, microservices, PaaS, container orchestration
  • Big Data technologies experience (SQL, NoSQL, ETL, etc.)
  • AI/ML solutions experience
  • FedRAMP/FISMA knowledge

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience with cloud native architecture in a customer-facing or support role.
  • Experience engaging with, and presenting to, technical stakeholders and executive leaders.
  • Experience promoting technology solutions to US Federal Civilian agencies.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience developing architectures and mission solutions using API management, microservice frameworks, PaaS, and container orchestration systems, or other applicable platforms.
  • Experience with Big Data technologies or concepts: analytics warehousing, data processing, data transformation, data governance, data migrations, ETL, ELT, SQL, NoSQL, performance or scalability optimizations, or batch versus streaming.
  • Experience leveraging Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning solutions to solve customer challenges.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and compliance frameworks, Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) or Federal Information Security Management (FISMA).
  • Ability to learn, understand, and work with emerging technologies, methodologies, and solutions in the Google Cloud/IT technology space.

In this role, you will deliver what is helpful for the customer. You will assist fellow Googlers by problem-solving the technical issues for our customers. You will liaise with the product marketing management and engineering teams to stay on top of industry trends and devise enhancements to Google cloud products.

You will work with Technical teams to differentiate and communicate the growth of Google cloud to our clients. You will help prospective customers and partners understand the Google Cloud explaining technical features, helping customers design architectures, engaging in proof-of-concepts, and troubleshooting potential issues. You will also travel to customer sites, conferences, and other events.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $142,000-$214,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Identify business and technical requirements, conduct technical discovery, and architect client solutions to meet gathered requirements.
  • Lead technical projects, technology advocacy, support bid responses, product and solution briefings, proof-of-concept work, and the coordination of supporting technical resources.
  • Deliver product messaging for the Google cloud platform by using whiteboard and slide presentations, product demonstrations, white papers, trial management, and Request for Information (RFI) response documents.
  • Drive recommendations on integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms, and application infrastructure to implement a complete solution providing best practice advice to customers to optimize Google cloud platform effectiveness.
