Summary

The Design Engineer 1 will act as a liaison between R&D and Manufacturing, focusing on continuous quality improvement for NMEX vehicles. Responsibilities include coordinating quality activities in the field (GENBA), preparing and following up on reports, and participating in problem resolution (root cause analysis, countermeasure proposals). This role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills (FTA, IT IS/IT IS NOT, 5 WHY, etc.), excellent communication, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively. The engineer will support special R&D projects, attend quality improvement meetings, and verify the effectiveness of implemented countermeasures. The position demands proficiency in English and MS Office, along with flexibility and occasional travel.

Carry out the work of link between the R&D and MFG areas, mainly for activities related to the continuous improvement of Quality of NMEX vehicles.

With supervision by team leader or manager:

Coordinate Quality activities in the field (GENBA), prepare reports of such activities showing their evolution, and follow them, to be closed in a timely manner.

Participate in the resolution of problems by analyze, confirm, and validate failure mechanism and root cause(s), as well as proposing Q3 CM actions.

Support special activities requested by the R&D area for various purposes.

Attend quality improvement related meetings; when necessary, prepare the meeting material, clearly assign tasks, and follow up their completion among the participants.

Job Functions:

-Gather the necessary information for root cause identification and CM definition.
-Carry out analysis and research activities to define CM actions for quality related items (read verbatim of warranty claims, prepare basic FTA for failure mode, GENBA, parts check, it is /it is not matrix, ...)
-Attend special activities aimed to improved quality indicators (Gensha Kai, Line Walk, audits, functional test, etc.)
-Verify the effectiveness of the defined/adopted CM (monitoring warranty data base, DPHU results, ...).
-Prepare and present accurate, clear and continuous reports to manager, showing the latest status, roadblocks and next steps until their conclusion.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in engineering (preferable mechanical, electromechanics, electronics).

Required knowledge:

Problem-solving skills (FTA, IT IS/IT IS NOT, 5 WHY, FISHBONE, DA Chart...)

Language:

Fluent English skills in verbal and written communication, TOEIC's score of 600 min (high bilingual level is expected).

Computer skills:

Working knowledge of MS Office

Competences:

  • Communication, presentation and negotiation skills.

  • Analytical and writing skills with the ability to propose logical and practical solutions to problems.

  • Ability to develop and maintain successful working relationships.

  • Time self-management and prioritization.

Additional requirements:

  • Flexible working time

  • Ability to travel on occasional multi-day trips.

  • Driver license
