Job Summary

Poppulo, a global leader in employee communications software, is seeking a dynamic Director of Sales. This hands-on leader will guide SaaS sales teams in new customer acquisition and enterprise expansion, focusing on increasing deal velocity, managing sales activities, and improving the sales process. The role involves coaching Account Executives, defining sales strategy, and partnering with senior leadership to drive growth. Candidates need a proven track record in sales leadership, operational knowledge of sales tools, and expertise in the internal communications market.

Must Have

  • Proven track record in guiding SaaS sales teams
  • Experience in new customer acquisition and expanding business within enterprise organizations
  • Ability to lead a team of Account Executives
  • Experience increasing deal velocity and removing roadblocks
  • Ability to work across cross-functional teams (Customer Success, Marketing, Product)
  • Experience coaching, developing, and managing sales team performance
  • Proficiency in managing day-to-day sales activities and delivering key sales metrics
  • Skills in improving prospecting, qualification, proposals, negotiation, and closing
  • Ability to define and develop sales strategy and territory planning
  • Experience serving as a strategic partner to VP of Sales and Chief Revenue Officer
  • Ability to set clear objectives and establish key metrics for team performance
  • Experience forecasting bookings with high accuracy
  • Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships
  • Understanding of industry-specific trends and landscapes
  • At least 5 years of experience with 3 years of successful sales leadership experience
  • Experience with pan-European enterprise customers
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Track record of successfully managing remote, inside sales, and field sales teams
  • Operational knowledge of Microsoft 365, Salesforce, and current Internet technologies
  • Experience in management of pipelines, territories, forecasting, and processes
  • Expertise in the Internal Communications market
  • Proven ability to drive the sales process from start to finish
  • Familiarity with sales technology deployed in SaaS sales environments
  • Experience with hands-on operational leadership of sales development teams and sales quota bearing heads
  • Analytical skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills (Fluent English)

Job Summary:

The Director of Sales is a dynamic, hands-on leader with a proven track record in guiding SaaS sales teams in both new customer acquisition and expanding business within enterprise organizations. This role calls for a strategic executor, capable of leading a team of Account Executives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Increase the velocity of deals - drive results and remove roadblocks
  • Work across cross functional teams, especially with Customer Success, Marketing and Product.
  • Coach, develop, and manage the performance of the Land and Expansion Sales team
  • Manage day-to-day sales activities with a focus on delivering key sales metrics
  • Improve prospecting, qualification, proposals, negotiation and closing.
  • Help define and develop the company’s sales strategy and territory planning.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to the VP of Sales and Chief Revenue Officer to advance the growth strategy, work with top tier customers, and drive sales.
  • Set clear objectives for the team and establish key metrics to measure performance.
  • Serve as a key resource for special projects and participate routinely in the design and implementation of customer value programs and product launches.
  • Forecast bookings with a high degree of accuracy for your reports leveraging sales process stage, inspection, and subjective judgment.
  • Build and maintain long-lasting, strong relationships with customers while partnering with them to better understand their business objectives and needs.
  • Understand industry-specific trends and landscapes.
  • Report on forces that shift strategic directions of accounts and tactical budgets.
  • Join quarterly business reviews with his or her direct reports and the Customer Success organization.
  • Ensure that pricing integrity is maintained within assigned Sales accounts and are consistent with corporate strategies.

Education & Experience

  • At least 5 years of experience with 3 years of successful sales leadership experience, specifically in pan-European enterprise customers
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Track record of successfully managing remote, inside sales and field sales teams
  • Operational knowledge of various application programs, Microsoft 365, Salesforce, and current Internet technologies.
  • Management of pipelines, territories, forecasting and processes.
  • Expertise in the Internal Communications market
  • Proven ability to drive the sales process from start to finish
  • Familiarity with sales technology deployed in SaaS sales environments
  • Experience with hands-on operational leadership of sales development teams (inbound and outbound) and sales quota bearing heads.
  • Experience forecasting and territory planning
  • Analytical skills and excellent written and oral communication skills (Fluent English)
  • Experience in leveraging AI to increase productivity and quality for your team.
  • Appetite and capacity to learn lots and learn fast
  • Agile, ready, and able to quickly pivot
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

Compensation:

Annual base salary gross: 150,000-175,000 plus matching variable USD Annual. The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Company's contemplated salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as the candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and geographic location. The salary is one component of Company's total compensation package for employees.
