Join Thales CDI's Smart Mobility Technical Directorate in Meudon as an End-to-End Solution Architect. You will define secure architectures and provide technical leadership for new offerings in electric vehicle charging ecosystems (ISO15118, OCPP) and digital keys (Car Connectivity Consortium Digital Key). Responsibilities include defining architecture options, establishing solution architecture, participating in the development cycle, managing requirements, and contributing to international standards.

Must Have:
  • Define and recommend end-to-end architecture options meeting stakeholder requirements, applicable standards, reuse policies, cybersecurity, technology roadmap, and product strategy.

  • Participate in the solution development cycle.
  • Manage requirements, performance evaluation, critical parameters, interface definition, and technical negotiation throughout the solution lifecycle.

Project / role / missions description

Within the Cybersecurity and Digital Identity Business Unit (THALES CDI), the Smart Mobility Technical Directorate is looking for an End-to-End Solution Architect to support it in the development of a new offering around electric vehicle charging ecosystems and digital keys.

Within Smart Mobility, you will be responsible for defining secure architectures, providing technical leadership and recommendations to enable Thales to define, develop, and maintain reliable, secure, certifiable, and economically viable solutions to address the electric charging ecosystem (ISO15118, OCPP) and the digital key (Car Connectivity Consortium Digital Key). You will be responsible for:

  • Defining and recommending architecture options for end-to-end solutions meeting the requirements of various stakeholders according to applicable standards, reuse policies, cybersecurity requirements, technology roadmap, and product strategy.
  • Establishing the solution architecture by making compromises between stakeholder expectations, technical solutions, and costs, risks, and schedule, documenting artifacts (architecture, design justification, product breakdown structure, system/segment design document, system and subsystem design document) and approving resulting lower-level specifications (internal or external).
  • Participating in the solution development cycle.
  • Managing, throughout the solution lifecycle, the assignment of the correct level of requirements, the management of performance evaluation and critical parameters, the definition of interfaces, and technical negotiation between different contributors (internal or external).
  • Participating in the drafting of standards or recommendations within international organizations bringing together the various actors.

You will take on the roles of Project Design Authority (PDA) and Product Line Architect (PLA) for Smart Mobility Solutions and embedded Products of the EV Charging and CCC Digital Key product lines.

Your profile

Do you want to contribute to the future of connected and secure mobility?

With an engineering degree (or equivalent), you have at least 5 years of experience in software architecture or end-to-end solution architecture.

The skills sought for this role are the following:

  • Ability to define the architecture and technically argue architectural choices for end-to-end solutions including administration servers, middleware software embedded in Devices, and applets deployed in Secure Elements,
  • Ability to perceive and understand the complexity, interrelationships, and interconnection of the different components of a solution and an ecosystem involving different types of stakeholders (external or internal)
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and the ability to identify cyber risks and design end-to-end solutions that meet these principles
  • Knowledge of the mechanisms implemented in SmartCards or Secure Elements
