Job Summary

WSP is seeking a Hydraulic Engineer for its Mining team. This role involves project engineering in Hydraulic and Pulp Management, from conceptual design to operational support for mining infrastructure. Responsibilities include designing water and pulp transport systems, developing specifications, conducting hydraulic analyses and modeling, and preparing technical reports, collaborating with project teams.

Must Have

  • Design water, tailings, or mining pulp transport systems.
  • Develop design criteria and technical specifications.
  • Perform hydraulic analyses for pulp transport.
  • Conduct hydraulic modeling (steady and transient).
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations.
  • Collaborate with project professionals.
  • Civil Engineer or related degree with 3-5 years experience.
  • Knowledge in Fluid Transport and Mining Pulp Management.
  • Advanced Excel and M365 suite proficiency.
  • Advanced English.

Good to Have

  • Proficiency in hydraulic modeling and transient software.

About this opportunity:

At WSP, we are looking for a Hydraulic Engineer to join our Mining team.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for Project Engineer for the Hydraulic and Pulp Management discipline, collaborating in different stages of mining infrastructure projects, from conceptual engineering and opportunity evaluation, to detailed engineering and operational support.

Responsibilities:

  • Actively participate in the Design of Water, Tailings, or other mining pulp Transport Systems.
  • Develop design criteria and technical specifications.
  • Hydraulic analyses for the transport of tailings and other mining pulps.
  • Hydraulic modeling, in steady and transient regimes.
  • Conduct alternative analyses.
  • Preparation of technical reports.
  • Collaborate and coordinate work with other project professionals.
  • Prepare high-impact technical presentations.
  • Other duties associated with the hydraulic discipline.

Requirements:

  • Civil Engineer or related career, with 3 to 5 years of experience.
  • Civil Engineer, Hydraulic Civil Engineer, Civil Works Engineer, Mechanical Civil Engineer, Chemical Civil Engineer or related career.
  • Knowledge in Fluid Transport and Mining Pulp Management.
  • Desirable: proficiency in hydraulic modeling software and hydraulic transients.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and M365 suite (including Copilot).
  • Advanced English.
