Job Description

As a logistics methods engineer at Thales' center of excellence for aviation and optronic equipment support in Chatellerault, you will lead logistics improvement projects for the Brelandière site, aligning with local objectives and the Supply Chain FLX Business Line's challenges. You will collaborate closely with SC FLX business networks, potentially engage in cross-functional actions across the entire SC FLX scope, and serve as support and backup for the Logistics Manager.

Must Have:
  • Ensure the application of logistics processes and become a reference for various standards (chemical product management, Kanban commissions, specific business tools like Personas).
  • Lead improvement projects to optimize logistics flows from product release to shipment using Lean management standards.
  • Work on major development projects such as workstation ergonomics, digitalization, and robotization.
  • Conduct improvement actions with local operational teams (animate problem-solving workshops like KAIZEN, 5P, PDCA, provide training and support).
  • Support operational teams in implementing new methods (training, daily practice support, creating necessary tools).
  • Engineer in supply chain with at least 2 years of experience in industrial Supply Chain Engineering.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Proficiency in ERP SAP and Microsoft Office tools (VBA macro, Power BI, Query).
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing basics and problem-solving tools.
  • CPIM Certification.

As a logistics methods engineer, you lead logistics improvement projects for the Brelandière site in line with local objectives and the challenges of the FLX Business Line Supply Chain (SC FLX). To do this, you work in close collaboration with the SC FLX business networks, may be called upon for cross-functional actions across the entire SC FLX scope, and will be the support and backup for the Logistics Manager.

Your main missions:

Ensure the application of logistics processes and become a reference for various standards

  • Management of chemical products on site,
  • Kanban commissions,
  • Implementation of various specific business tools (Personas)…

Lead improvement projects

  • Optimize logistics flows from product release to shipment by relying on Lean management standards
  • Work on major development projects such as workstation ergonomics, digitalization, and robotization.

Conduct improvement actions with local operational teams

  • Facilitate problem-solving workshops (KAIZEN, 5P, PDCA…)
  • Lead training and support actions

Support operational teams in implementing new methods

  • Training in new processes and new tools
  • Support for operational teams in daily practice until autonomy
  • Creation of necessary tools (kanban cards, station displays, consumable identification, etc.).

Your cross-functional activities:

  • Participate and contribute to continuous improvement through the various actions in which you are involved, in coherence with the Thales Lean Production System approach.
  • In line with the Safety and Environment policy, apply procedures and comply with Safety and Environment Management requirements.
  • Aware of the prevention of Safety and Environment risks, ensure compliance with rules and instructions to prevent accidents and incidents.

Your profile

With an engineering degree in supply chain, you have the following experience:

  • At least 2 years of experience in industrial Supply Chain Engineering
  • Strong skills in project management
  • Proficiency in ERP SAP and Microsoft Office tools (VBA macro, Power BI and Query)
  • The basics of Lean Manufacturing and problem-solving tools
  • CPIM Certification (Certified in Planning and Inventory Management).
