This newly created hybrid position for a Payroll Delivery Manager at Marsh, based in Melbourne or Sydney, involves ensuring overall payroll compliance across the Pacific Region (Australia, New Zealand). The role requires a blend of regulatory knowledge, payroll operations experience, and analytical skills to implement and maintain compliance, audit processes, and improve existing payroll administration. You will work closely with business stakeholders, HR Managers, and the India-based payroll operations team to manage issues and drive improvements in response to legislation changes, ensuring statutory requirements are met.

  • Communicate with business stakeholders and HR Managers on payroll issues.
  • Work closely with the payroll operations team in India to drive improvements.
  • Work closely with the payroll provider to ensure SLA adherence and quality services.
  • Provide assurance that payroll setup aligns with statutory requirements and applicable awards.
  • Extensive experience in end-to-end payroll operations and/or payroll auditing.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll tax regulatory requirements.
  • Experience interpreting multiple industrial pay conditions.
  • Ability to interpret relevant legislation, awards and compliance requirements.
  • Capability to think independently, analyse data, identify risk, and advocate change.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.

We have a newly created position available for an experienced payroll professional to join Marsh in either Melbourne or Sydney. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

You will utilise your distinctive blend of regulatory knowledge, payroll operations experience, analytical skills and interpersonal abilities to drive the implementation and upkeep of payroll compliance across the Pacific Region (Australia, New Zealand).

This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both from home and our office.

We will count on you to:

  • Ensure overall payroll compliance within the regulatory framework.
  • Implement and document appropriate controls audit processes including development of necessary payroll reports.
  • Examine payrolls processes to ensure they are up-to-date, legally compliant, and up to the highest industry standards, including wages, pay rates and tax withholdings.
  • Analyse the systems, processes and structures of the existing payroll administration to identify errors and deficiencies and recommend procedure changes.
  • Communicate with business stakeholders and HR Managers to understand and manage payroll issues and concerns that may arise and help implementing payroll changes when and where required.
  • Work closely with the payroll operations team based in India, to drive improvements and implement recommendations in response to legislation change.
  • Work closely with the payroll provider, to ensure they work within their SLA’s and provide quality services in line with our requirements
  • Provide assurance that the payroll setup is in line with statutory requirements and applicable awards.

What you need to have:

  • Extensive experience in end-to-end payroll operations and/or payroll auditing.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll tax regulatory requirements.
  • Experience interpreting multiple industrial pay conditions.
  • Ability to interpret relevant legislation, awards and compliance requirements.
  • Capability to think independently, suggest improvements, analyse and interpret payroll data, identify and mitigate risk and to advocate change when necessary.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
