Job Summary

The E.W. Scripps ABC affiliate WCPO in Cincinnati is seeking a detail-oriented Sales Support Specialist to be the backbone of their sales operations. This role involves working directly with clients, supporting account executives, and ensuring seamless advertising campaigns to help local businesses thrive. The specialist will be responsible for day-to-day sales department activities.

Must Have

  • Assist Sales team with pre-sales events, client appointments, and order entry.
  • Facilitate and process sales presentations.
  • Communicate with advertising agencies and clients for make goods, preemptions, and under delivery.
  • Send station information to clients and national representatives.
  • Generate client campaign reports, interpret results, and provide recommendations.
  • Liaise with sales, web production, marketing, and analytics for campaign execution.
  • Generate and analyze sales reports, including rating delivery data.
  • Complete online postings and adjust advertising schedules.
  • Identify and correct billing errors or issues prior to month-end.
  • Input client billing adjustments within the same month as dispute identification.
  • Attend sales training and planning meetings.
  • Arrange and distribute advertising materials and sales reports.
  • Provide exemplary customer assistance.
  • Assist AE’s and clients with creative copy, make goods, and changes.
  • Send location information to clients and national reps.
  • Produce sales pieces in coordination with National Rep. Firm and Research Director.
  • Assist with inventory control and updating weekly rate card.
  • Act as paid programming liaison with advertisers, where necessary.
  • Crosstrain in all sales and traffic software applications and sales support positions.
  • Handle daily general clerical functions like filing, answering phones, and creating correspondence.

Responsible for supporting the sales department in day-to-day activities.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Assist Sales team with pre-sales events, client appointments, and order entry. Facilitate & process sales presentations.
  • Communicate with advertising agencies and clients for make goods, preemptions, under delivery and day-to-day contact. Including sending station information to clients and national representatives.
  • Generate client campaign reports and interpret the results, providing key metrics and campaign recommendations to assist the sales team with client retention.
  • Liaise with sales, web production, marketing and analytics regarding planning and prioritization to assist in execution of the campaigns
  • Generate and analyze sales reports including rating delivery data by week and adjusting advertising schedules. Complete online postings.
  • Identify and correct any billing errors or issues prior to end of month.
  • Correctly input client billing adjustments within the same month as dispute identified.
  • Attend sales training and planning meetings.
  • Arranges and distributes various advertising materials and sales reports to the proper areas in a timely manner.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Generally, 5+ years of experience in a related field preferred

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret sales demographics information and creative layouts
  • Must have the ability to generate reports, business correspondence, and presentations
  • Strong communication skills and the capability to effectively respond to questions from managers, colleagues, and customers
  • Must have the ability to calculate figures related to the advertising rate packages
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Must have the ability to learn new software programs such as ad order entry and customer relations management software
  • Must have good organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines
  • Must have strong attention to detail
  • Communicate and work as a team player both internally and externally
