About the job
Responsibilities:
- Lead the creation and assembly of immersive game environments using Unreal Engine
- Collaborate with the design and art teams to ensure the environment aligns with the game's aesthetic and narrative direction
- Create a variety of assets including complex models, textures, materials, and shaders
- Optimize environmental assets to ensure they meet performance requirements
- Participate in regular reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback to continuously improve the quality of work
- Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to junior team members
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, techniques, and technologies in environment art creation
- Bachelor's degree in Art, Design, or related field
- 5+ Years experience as an environment artist in the gaming industry, with extensive experience in Unreal Engine
- Mastery of 3D modeling tools such as Maya, 3ds Max, or Blender and texturing tools like Substance Painter and Designer
- Strong understanding of lighting, composition, color theory, atmosphere, and detail in environmental design
- Excellent artistic eye for detail with an impressive portfolio showcasing your environment art work
- Strong leadership and communication skills with a knack for providing constructive feedback
- Ability to adapt quickly to new techniques and software
