Would you rather learn by viewing PowerPoint slides or playing video games? So would our nation’s future Air Force intelligence analysts. Leidos has an opening for a Senior level Unity Programmer supporting an agile customer who recognizes how young airmen most effectively learn today, and is revolutionizing their training. The Sr. Programmer will work on a team with 3D Video Game Artists and Courseware Developers to create engaging lessons for future officer and enlisted Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) analysts. You will have the opportunity to use your unique skills to support projects such as: (1) Interactive animated exercise that assists in teaching advanced and complex weapon guidance theories; (2) 3D animations of aircraft performing aerial maneuvers or on-the-ground “petting zoo” vehicle tours; (3) Fire school equipment 3D showcase application where users can pick up firefighting equipment, rotate and get better views, and see detailed descriptions of each piece of equipment; (4) 3D bombs and fuses game where users can zoom in, spin and rotate, and play a simulation where students can destroy targets using the bombs and fuses they selected; and (5) Air Tasking Order turn-based strategy game teaching students how to design aircraft packages to eliminate targets with optimal effectiveness.
Responsibilities:
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline. Or 4 years of experience and relevant software development certifications .
8-12 years of relevant experience.
Seasoned experience with game development IDEs, such as Unity 3D, to create technical inserts, instruction, and instructional games.
Six Sigma/Agile project management
Resource requirements and cost estimates for software solutions
Current TS/SCI security clearance OR ability to obtain (requires US citizenship)
