We are looking for an experienced Texture/Surfacing Artist to join the Skate team. You will report to Skate's Lead Surfacing Artist and work in collaboration with content creators working on the creation of levels, world-based features, and content creation techniques.
Responsibilities:
You will fulfill these job responsibilities:
- Stay current with and exhibit a high degree of technical knowledge about current state-of-the-industry texturing techniques.
- Work with the Surfacing Lead, Art Director, Environment Director and Character Director on Visual Look Development projects to explore and align on surfacing art direction for both environments and characters.
- Create high-quality stylized textures in a PBR rendering environment.
- Gather and break down references into essential representative surfacing elements.
- Contribute to both environment and character texture libraries, and uphold quality across both.
- Work with new and unfamiliar tools related to modeling, uv editing, baking secondary information, texturing/surfacing, and rendering.
Qualifications:
- Experience shipping surfacing content on 2-3 shipped game titles.
- Have at least 3 years of experience.
- High level of skill in procedural based texturing workflows using software packages such as Substance Designer & Painter, Photoshop, zBrush, and Maya.
- Production experience with modern real-time game engines such as Unreal, Unity, CryEngine.
- Experience prototyping work with node-based shader networks in-engine is considered a plus.
- A degree in Fine Arts, Visual Design, Animation, or related diploma or certificate.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

º $117,300 - $145,600 USD Annually
• Colorado (depending on location e.g. Denver vs. Colorado Springs):
º $111,800 - $151,800 USD Annually
• Washington (depending on location e.g. Seattle vs. Spokane):
º $92,600 - $135,600 USD Annually
• British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria):
º $89,300 - $123,000 CAN Annually
Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. In the US, we offer a package of benefits including paid time off (3 weeks per year to start), 80 hours per year of sick time, 16 paid company holidays per year, 10 weeks paid time off to bond with baby, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity. For British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
