As a Senior Technical Program Manager II at Google Cloud Platform, you will lead complex, multi-disciplinary software engineering projects. Responsibilities include managing execution across multiple engineering teams, planning requirements, identifying risks, managing project schedules, and communicating with cross-functional partners. You'll need strong technical expertise to discuss technical tradeoffs with engineers and present analyses to executives. The role requires a proven track record of successfully managing large-scale projects, influencing stakeholders, and driving program performance improvements. You will also be responsible for leading organizational pivots to adapt to changing business trends and priorities, establishing a reliable cadence for portfolio reviews, and developing a strategic planning framework for a complex program portfolio.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years technical program management experience
  • 10+ years software development experience

  • Cross-functional communication
Good to have:
  • 10+ years managing cross-functional projects
  • Experience in Software Engineering, Software Infrastructure Engineering, Security, Big Data and Analytics, or Cloud Networking

Minimum qualifications:

  • 10 years of technical program management work experience.
  • 10 years of experience with software development and managing execution of programs that span multiple engineering teams.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 10 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • 10 years of experience in Software Engineering, Software Infrastructure Engineering, Security, Big Data and Analytics, or Cloud Networking.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $214,000-$305,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Be a highly credible thought leader within Google and industry on the subject matter domain of the respective organization.  
  • Establish a reliable and visible cadence for portfolio reviews, decision making, prioritization, and resource management, whereby improvements are measurable and the impact can be felt organization wide. 
  • Drive measurable program performance gains correlated to execution velocity. 
  • Be a change advocate responsible for initiating and leading multiple organizations through pivots needed to address shifts in business trends and priorities. 
  • Lead strategic planning framework for a complex program portfolio including direct influence over resourcing decisions, planning cadence, and planning stakeholders.
