Summary

As a Silicon Physical Design CAD Engineer at Google, you will be part of a diverse team developing custom silicon solutions. You'll collaborate with the methodology team to define physical design verification (PDV) flow requirements, work with the project team for effective flow execution and results review, import new features, improve job efficiency, and maintain a stable PDV analysis flow. Responsibilities include providing flow usage and execution support, leading cross-team collaborations on mission-critical projects, and driving results. You'll need experience with CAD and EDA tools, scripting languages (Perl, TCL, Shell, or Python), and ideally experience with advanced technology nodes and tools like Siemens/Calibre, Synopsys/IC Validator, or Cadence/Pegasus. The role involves contributing to the innovation behind products used by millions, shaping the next generation of hardware experiences.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in EE or related field
  • 5+ years CAD/EDA tools experience
  • Scripting (Perl, TCL, Shell, Python)
  • Collaborate with methodology & project teams
  • PDV flow maintenance and support
Good to have:
  • Master's or PhD in related field
  • Advanced technology node experience
  • Siemens/Calibre, Synopsys/IC Validator, Cadence/Pegasus experience
  • Data analysis, reporting, and dashboard creation
  • EDA vendor management

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, a similar field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience with Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools and flows and electronic design automation (EDA) tools and methodologies.
  • Experience in scripting languages such as Perl, TCL, Shell, or Python.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a similar field.
  • Experience in advanced technology nodes.
  • Experience with Siemens/Calibre, Synopsys/IC Validator, or Cadence/Pegasus.
  • Experience in extraction of design parameters, QoR metrics, analyzing trends, and creating dashboards/reports.
  • Experience in EDA vendor management in feature evaluation and issue support.
