About the job
Summary
The Standard Cell Design Engineer defines, builds, and evaluates standard cell circuits and/or layouts to meet design requirements (power, performance, area, cost). Responsibilities include developing standard cell circuits for cell libraries, performing transistor-level circuit design and analysis, CMOS device characterization, and timing/power/reliability characterization. The role involves working with IP and SoC design teams to integrate ideas and meet performance goals, collaborating with process technology teams to refine process requirements, and verifying standard cell circuits. The engineer serves as the primary contact between design and standard cell library providers to ensure design requirements are met. This includes experience with digital circuit design (CMOS combinatorial logic and sequential elements), industry-standard design automation tools (circuit simulation, std cell characterization, synthesis, place and route, physical design verification, reliability verification), and scripting (TCL, Perl, Python, ML).
