Job Specification: HPC Engineer (Cloud & Infrastructure)
Location: (Remote in Europe): Circa 80,000 euros
Company Overview: We are a leading provider of High-Performance Computing (HPC) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions, offering HPC as a Service to clients across Europe. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated HPC Engineer to join our team. As an HPC Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, configuring, debugging, and maintaining HPC infrastructure, ensuring optimal system performance.
Role Overview: The HPC Engineer will be responsible for the efficient operation and optimization of our HPC infrastructure. You will work remotely across Europe, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver cutting-edge solutions. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with HPC technologies and cloud infrastructure, particularly with expertise in OpenStack and/Or Nokia SR Linux.
Key Responsibilities:
- HPC Infrastructure Design and Configuration:
- Design, configure, and deploy HPC clusters and systems to meet client requirements.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their specific HPC needs and customize infrastructure accordingly.
- Implement and maintain cloud-based HPC solutions.
- System Administration and Performance Optimization:
- Perform system administration tasks, including user management, software installation, and system monitoring.
- Optimize HPC system performance for efficiency and scalability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues to ensure uninterrupted operation.
- Cloud and Infrastructure Management:
- Manage cloud infrastructure using OpenStack, including Nova, Cinder, Neutron, and Keystone.
- Monitor and maintain cloud resources to ensure availability and reliability.
- Implement security measures to protect HPC and AI systems.
- Demonstrate hands-on expertise with Nokia SR Linux or equivalent competitors (please list five alternatives).
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in HPC and AI technologies.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to the team.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Document HPC infrastructure configurations, procedures, and best practices.
- Generate performance reports and recommendations for continuous improvement.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Proven experience as an HPC Engineer or similar role, with a deep understanding of HPC concepts and technologies.
- Technical proficiency in OpenStack, including Nova, Cinder, Neutron, and Keystone.
- Hands-on experience with Nokia SR Linux or equivalent competitors (Cumulus Linux, Arista EOS, Cisco IOS XR, Juniper Junos, Extreme Networks ExtremeXOS).
- Strong system administration skills and the ability to optimize HPC performance, with a hands-on ability to debug & config.
- Solid understanding of cloud computing principles and cloud infrastructure management.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work independently and remotely across Europe.
- Flexible and adaptable approach to varying project requirements.
