Job Description

The Island Maintenance Technician - AC & Refrigeration is responsible for installing and maintaining HVAC equipment on Disney's private island in the Bahamas. This includes industrial, residential, and commercial systems. Responsibilities encompass installation, calibration, promoting a safe work environment, complying with safety policies, and providing service to other departments. The role requires 3+ years of HVAC experience, relevant certifications (including Universal CFC), and knowledge of HVAC practices, tools, and safety precautions. The position involves field service, potentially working from heights and in confined spaces. Living and working on a private island requires adaptability and adherence to specific rules and regulations.

Must have:

3+ years HVAC experience
Universal CFC Certification
HVAC installation & maintenance
Safety compliance
Problem-solving skills

Good to have:

Knowledge of building systems
Experience with energy management systems
Proficiency with DDC and related software

Responsibilities:

Your Responsibilities – How You Will Make a Difference

Install and maintain industrial, residential, and commercial mechanical, air-conditioning, heating and ventilating equipment and control systems
Install and calibrate HVAC systems
Promote a safe work environment; Comply with the safety competencies, and all company policies
Provide lateral service to other departments

Basic Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications – What You Will Bring to the Team

3 or more years HVAC experience; Diploma or certificate supporting training HVAC technician and have Universal CFC Certification
Knowledge of the standard practices, methods, tools, and materials common to the HVAC trade
Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the HVAC trade
Knowledge of operations and maintenance of buildings and building systems to include heating, ventilation and air conditioning, electrical, plumbing, and energy systems; Familiarity with energy management systems and HVAC controls
Experience using direct digital controls, personal computers, and related software to operate systems, identify problems, and repair equipment
This is a field service position that may include work from ladders, elevated platforms and working in confined spaces

This role is based on Disney’s private island in the Bahamas.
