Job Title: Senior Frontend Developer  Location: Birmingham, UK
Hybrid/Remote Role (2-3 days in office)
Salary: £50,000 

A dynamic and innovative e-commerce agency based in Birmingham is looking for a Senior Frontend Developer to head up their team. Their team specialises in crafting cutting-edge e-commerce solutions that drive growth and customer satisfaction. You should be an expert in React and Next.js. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Frontend Development: Design and develop visually appealing and user-friendly web applications using React and Next.js. Collaborate with the design team to translate wireframes and mockups into responsive and functional web interfaces.
  • User Experience Enhancement: Implement best practices in frontend development to optimize website performance, ensuring a seamless user experience. Continuously improve and enhance the user interface for a compelling and user-friendly e-commerce platform.
  • Integration and Data Management: Integrate with backend APIs and databases to fetch and display product information, user data, and other relevant content. Ensure data security and privacy are maintained in compliance with industry standards.
  • Testing and Debugging: Conduct thorough testing and debugging to identify and resolve frontend issues. Maintain code quality through regular code reviews and optimization.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the backend development team to ensure seamless data flow between the frontend and backend components. Collaborate with UX/UI designers to implement design elements effectively.
  • Performance Optimisation: Optimise the website for speed and responsiveness, implementing best practices for frontend performance.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain documentation for frontend code, ensuring clear communication and knowledge sharing within the team.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in frontend development using React and Next.js.
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and related web technologies.
  • Familiarity with responsive design and mobile-first development.
  • Experience with version control systems, such as Git.
  • Knowledge of web accessibility and SEO best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with e-commerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento).
  • Knowledge of state management libraries (e.g., Redux, MobX).
  • Experience with server-side rendering and SEO optimization in Next.js.
  • Understanding of build tools and automation (Webpack, Babel).
  • Familiarity with UI/UX design principles.
  • Experience with unit testing and testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, React Testing Library).
