About the Role

As a Technical UI Artist at Fortis Games, your mission is to bridge the gap between art and technology by developing efficient tools, optimizing asset pipelines, and ensuring seamless integration between art and engineering. You will be instrumental in developing and maintaining tools and pipelines, helping the UI team create high-quality visuals while keeping performance in check.  You will collaborate with designers, engineers, and other artists to ensure technical excellence and consistency across all game assets.

• Collaborate closely with UI artists and developers to translate the UI vision into delightful in-game experiences
• Find technical solutions to help achieve high quality UI design implementation
• Develop and maintain tools and pipelines for efficient asset creation and integration
• Develop optimized shaders and effects for UI screens
• Create and maintain technical documentation for UI design implementation
• Ensure that the UI is optimized for various screen sizes and resolutions and is accessible for players with different abilities
• Participate in innovation in both UI design implementation and the technology/tools

What you’ll need to be successful 

• Previous experience in mobile UI design, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work
• Advanced knowledge of the Unity game engine and scripting
• Knowledge of shader creation via node graph, HLSL or GLSL
• Base proficiency with Python, C# or C++
• Strong ability to debug complex technical issues and find creative solutions to problems
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently
• Passion for video games and a deep understanding of the gaming industry and development pipelines
