Job Description

This internship supports Tesla's EMEA Supercharger deployment team in Berlin. Responsibilities include reviewing and optimizing Supercharger site layouts for customer experience, cost, and utilization; maintaining SketchUp and CAD libraries; creating guidelines and training materials; researching and developing new charging products and infrastructure (solar carports, restrooms, lounges); identifying design improvements considering various factors; supporting regional implementation of new charging products; and working with multiple European regions. The intern will learn about Tesla's design principles and contribute to the future of charging infrastructure. The internship is full-time for 6 months, starting March 2025.

Must have:

Proficiency in English
Pursuing a degree in relevant field
Create site layouts and visualizations
Familiarity with graphic design tools
Proficient in AutoCAD or similar tools

The Site Design role supports the EMEA Supercharger deployment team in Berlin. This dynamic role will support the Supercharger deployment team with the design of Supercharger sites. You will be developing and reviewing new and existing concepts, and invited to suggest improvements considering cost, quality, standardization, and project boundaries.

Your primary responsibilities are (i) the review and optimization of site layouts regarding customer experience, costs and utilization, (ii) maintaining the SketchUp and CAD library and (iii) creation of guidelines and training material for the Supercharger Knowledge Base.

Beyond that you will be involved in the research and development of new charging products and related infrastructure concepts like solar carports, restrooms, or lounges.

We are looking for a creative professional who is interested to design the future of charging.

What You’ll Do

Identify and quantify improvements for the design of Supercharger sites, considering customer experience, environmental conditions, legal boundaries, cost, and standardization.
Support the regions to implement new charging products and other site related infrastructure.
Deep-dive into the requirements for accessibility, noise limitation and fire protection
Identify design solutions, that help deal with spatial constraints and environmental restrictions
Support in the development of documentation, and guidelines
Help organize procurement efforts, and benchmarking for design and permitting costs across EMEA.
Work with a multitude of different regions across the European market
Learn about Tesla design principles

What You’ll Bring

Prociency in English
Pursuing a degree in architecture, civil engineering, urban planning, or comparable
Specialisations in Bachelor or Master programme for design
Create site layouts and visualisations to support the regions
Familiarity with graphic design tools like Photoshop
Self-starter, eager to learn
Analytical mindset and problem-solving oriented
Proficient in AutoCAD and/or other relevant tools for visualisation and technical drawings
