The Social Media Lead will be responsible for building and growing Ampere's national brand across various social media platforms. This role involves content creation, storytelling, and engagement efforts to reflect the voices of the communities they serve. The lead will develop social media strategies, create content, analyze performance, and ensure a consistent brand presence across all channels. The responsibilities include managing social media content, engaging with audiences, and adapting content for social media, all while working closely with regional teams. This position requires the ability to lead the creation of social-first video content.

Job Title: Social Media Lead
Reports to: Sr. Director of Marketing
Location:  Onsite 4 days a week in Peterborough or Lindsay.
Salary: $58,000 yearly. 
Term: Full-time, Permanent

Job Summary: 
Ampere is looking for a strategic and creative Social Media Lead to build and grow our national brand across platforms. This role will lead content creation, storytelling, and engagement efforts that reflect the voices of our communities and showcase Ampere’s impact. Working closely with regional teams and the Marketing Manager, the Social Media Lead will develop campaigns, drive audience engagement, and ensure a consistent presence across all channels.

Responsibilities:
  • Build and maintain Ampere’s national brand on LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Bluesky through community-driven storytelling and impact sharing.
  • Develop and execute a social media strategy and calendar that aligns with business goals and complements regional efforts.
  • Create, curate, and manage all social media content (images, videos, and written copy) across national accounts.
  • Cross-promote regional posts and actively engage with audiences to boost brand visibility and strengthen partner relationships.
  • Monitor trends, apply social media best practices, and analyze performance data to optimize engagement and reach.
  • Work with regional teams to ensure diverse communities are reflected in Ampere’s social presence.
  • Host regular check-ins with regions to share best practices, tools, and trends.
  • Lead the creation of social-first video content (Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube).
  • Support the Content and Communications Manager by providing social-friendly content adaptations.

Attributes and Qualifications: 
Equal consideration will be given to non-academic skills and experiences of candidates.

  • Education or experience in Communications, Marketing, Digital Media, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience managing social media platforms in a professional setting.
  • Strong writing, editing, and visual storytelling skills.
  • Knowledge of platform-specific best practices (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, etc.).
  • Experience with social media analytics and tools (such as Buffer, Later, or other tools).
  • Basic photo and video editing skills. Experience using Canva is an asset.
