Job Description

As an Android Software Engineer at Meta, you will be a part of a team that builds innovative applications for billions of users worldwide. You will work on projects involving user interfaces, Android infrastructure, and tools supporting Android applications using the Android SDK. Your responsibilities will include implementing custom native user interfaces, building reusable Android software components, analyzing and optimizing code for quality, efficiency, and performance, and collaborating closely with infrastructure and product teams to create new and engaging experiences. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Android development, experience with Java or Kotlin, and a passion for building high-quality software.

Must have:

Programming experience in a relevant language
Experience building Android applications in Java or Kotlin using Android SDK
Experience building maintainable and testable code bases, including API design and unit testing techniques
Experience with multithreading programming and mobile memory management
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience

Software Engineer, Android Responsibilities

Work closely with our infrastructure & product teams to build new and innovative application experiences for Android

Implement custom native user interfaces using the latest Android programming techniques

Build reusable Android software components for interfacing with our back-end platforms

Analyze and optimize UI and infrastructure application code for quality, efficiency, and performance

Minimum Qualifications

Programming experience in a relevant language

Experience building Android applications in Java or Kotlin using Android SDK

Experience building maintainable and testable code bases, including API design and unit testing techniques

Experience with multithreading programming and mobile memory management

Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.

Preferred Qualifications

Shipped at least one large-scale product to production, supporting millions of active users
