Amazon Games is seeking a highly talented and motivated Systems Development Engineer to join our Live Operations team supporting new titles in development. At Amazon Games, our ambition is to create bold new experiences that foster community in and around our games. Our team of game industry veterans is developing and publishing live service AAA multiplayer games and developing original IPs, including New World: Aeternum and an upcoming title based on The Lord of the Rings, with our studios and teams in Seattle, Orange County, San Diego, Montreal, and Bucharest. Amazon Games also publishes best-in-class games in close collaboration with developers, leading with Lost Ark from Smilegate RPG, THRONE AND LIBERTY from NCSOFT, and King of Meat from Glowmade, as well as the next major entry in the Tomb Raider series from Crystal Dynamics.

In this role you will join our Platform Engineering team to create architecture designs, develop migration strategies, create CDK automation to build the infrastructure for multiple titles, and create scripts and tools to support operation of live titles. The ideal candidate must be a team player who is able to work directly with end-users and teammates to bring titles to production. They must add value to the team by bringing ideas and solutions to the table.

Key job responsibilities
As a Systems Development Engineer, you will be expected to:

• Be a technical representative within Amazon Games for third party titles.
• Infra-as-Code and architecture reviews of second / third party titles.
• Infra-as-Code pipeline creation using CDK.
• Provide general technical support for third party titles: e.g. load testing, performance and cost optimization, and operational excellence.
• Creation of scripts and tools to support the infrastructure team and operation of live titles.

Basic Qualifications

- 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 1+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 7+ years of administrative experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems and hands-on systems engineering experience
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby
- Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting large-scale infrastructure

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience working in an Agile environment using the Scrum methodology
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes
- Experience building services using AWS products
- Experience utilizing AWS cloud solutions in a DevOps environment
- Experience supporting infrastructure for live-service games.
- Experience writing python, typescript and/or powershell.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $116,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $201,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
