Job Description

Google's Pixel AI team seeks a Software Engineer to design and develop machine learning systems for next-gen GenAI features on Pixel phones. Responsibilities include designing ML systems, developing and tuning models, designing data collection solutions, creating evaluation frameworks, and staying current with ML advancements. The role involves working on cutting-edge problems like LLMs, AI agent interactions, and private/personalized AI, leveraging Pixel's unique hardware and software capabilities. This is a full-time position focused on building personal, private, on-device GenAI features.

Must have:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
2+ years software development (Python or C++)
Experience with machine learning algorithms
Design ML systems for GenAI features
Develop and tune ML models

Good to have:

Master's/PhD in CS or related field
Android development experience
NLP or LLM experience
Excellent problem-solving skills

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
2 years of experience with software development in Python or C++ programming language, and with data structures/algorithms.
Experience with machine learning or machine learning algorithms.

Preferred qualifications:

Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, or a related technical field.
Experience with Android Development.
Experience with Natural Language Processing or Large Language Models.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Passionate and respectful team player.

This project will work on many cutting-edge problems, such as: LLM, AI agent's interaction with tools/APIs, private and personalized AI, etc.

The team works on shaping the future of Pixel devices and services through some of the most advanced designs, techniques, products, and experiences in consumer electronics. This includes bringing together the best of Google’s artificial intelligence, software, and hardware to build global smartphones and create transformative experiences for users across the world.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $136,000-$200,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

Design machine learning systems for new GenAI features on Pixel phones.
Develop and tune machine learning models.
Propose, design, and implement data collection solutions.
Design evaluation framework and carry out evaluations of the machine learning models.
Stay up-to-date on the latest machine learning techniques and technologies and apply them to our technical solutions.
