Microsoft Azure is seeking a Logic Design Engineer to contribute to the development of next-generation networking devices. Responsibilities include designing and implementing RTL in System Verilog, testing and debugging designs in simulation and on hardware platforms, collaborating with software teams on drivers and applications, and supporting products in cloud production environments. The role involves working on hardware/software co-design solutions for large-scale datacenter networks, leveraging custom hardware to accelerate computations and functions. The ideal candidate will have experience in RTL design, simulation, and hardware testing, along with a strong understanding of hardware design principles and cloud computing technologies. The position requires meeting Microsoft's security screening requirements.
Must have:

Good to have:
  • Experience with AI/ML workloads
  • Experience with high-performance computing

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience
    • OR Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
    • OR equivalent experience.

Other Qualifications: 

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: 
    • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field AND 5+ years technical engineering experience
    • OR Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field AND 3+ years technical engineering experience
    • OR Doctorate Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
    • OR equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement RTL in System Verilog, based on deep understanding of customer requirements, system architecture, and hardware design principles.
  • Test and debug your designs in simulation and on hardware-based platforms, to reach cloud-scale quality.
  • Work with software teams on development of drivers and applications.
  • Deliver the product into cloud production environments and support it through its lifetime.
