Risk Manager

The Risk Manager plays a pivotal role in strengthening Entain's operational resilience, protecting its financial sustainability, and navigating an evolving risk and regulatory landscape. Reporting to the Senior Risk Manager, this position is responsible for the proactive identification, assessment, and reporting of a broad range of strategic, operational, and emerging risks that could impact the organisation’s objectives, reputation, and long-term performance.

With a strong focus on both strategic insight and practical execution, the Risk Manager leverages analytical acumen and meaningful stakeholder engagement to embed a culture of risk awareness, enhance governance frameworks, and enable informed, risk-based decision-making throughout the organisation.

Note for those applying - This role does not have an emphasis on cyber or security risk.

Where and how you can work

We have offices expanding across multiple locations in Australia and New Zealand. However, this is a full time role that would ideally be based in our Brisbane office.

Your day-to-day...

• Facilitate structure risk workshops with business units to identify and evaluate key exposures.
• Conduct comprehensive risk assessments across strategic, financial and regulatory and operational themes.  
• Monitor Key Risk Indicators (KRI) and track emerging threats.
• Prepare regular risk reports and dashboards for Senior Management, the Risk Committee and other governance bodies.
• Review the adequacy of risk controls and recommend enhancements where required.
• Monitor and track the Implementation of action plans in coordination with control and action owners.
• Contribute to enterprise-wide risk reviews and thematic assessments delivering insights to inform continuous improvement.
• Provide risk advisory support on cross-functional initiatives such as Safer Gambling, AML, Compliance and Cyber Risk ensuring alignment with broader risk appetite.  

You're a match if you have….

• Proven experience (5+ years) in Risk Management, preferably with a regulated Industry (e.g. financial services, wagering or gaming).
• Sound knowledge of enterprise risk management frameworks, methodologies and risk control practices.  
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to assess risk scenario's and propose pragmatic solutions.
• Demonstrated ability to facilitate risk workshops, conduct assessments, and produce risk reports, dashboards or committee materials with clarity and impact.
• Experience In monitoring Key Risk Indicators and translating Insights Into actionable recommendations.
