Job Description

As a Monet DeSauw (DeSawyer 2000) Saw Operator/Technician, you will operate and maintain an advanced, fully computerized saw essential for truss production. Your responsibilities include operating the DeSawyer 2000 with its 17" touch-screen interface, performing quick setups, overseeing board throughput, performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting, maintaining and calibrating the saw, cross-referencing cutting plans, inspecting cuts, maintaining records, and collaborating with team members. The role requires efficiency, accuracy, and adherence to quality standards in a fast-paced environment.
Must have:

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings.

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Monet DeSauw (DeSawyer 2000) Saw Operator/Technician to operate and maintain one of the most advanced, fully computerized saws in the industry. The DeSawyer 2000 is integral to our truss production process, offering precision, reliability, and speed. As an operator, you will play a critical role in ensuring smooth, efficient, and accurate cutting operations to meet production demands in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate the DeSawyer 2000, a fully computerized five-bladed saw, using its 17" touch-screen interface and software.
  • Perform quick setups (6-8 seconds) and oversee board throughput of up to 60 pieces per minute, ensuring minimal downtime and consistent production flow.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of the saw, including software and mechanical issues.
  • Maintain and calibrate the saw, including powered angulation, vertical, and horizontal adjustments across its five blades.
  • Cross-reference cutting plans with blueprints to confirm accuracy and minimize errors.
  • Inspect completed cuts to ensure compliance with quality standards and customer specifications.
  • Maintain production records and ensure all tasks are completed on schedule.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to optimize workflow and maintain a smooth production process.

Qualifications:

  • Experience operating a Monet DeSauw or similar computer-controlled industrial saw preferred.
  • Strong ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
  • Proficiency with computer interfaces and production software.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Commitment to safety and quality in a fast-paced, industrial environment.
  • Physical ability to lift 25 lbs. and work on your feet for extended periods.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certifications are a plus.
  • Working knowledge of basic math.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
