Job Description

The Electrician will install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures in commercial buildings or manufacturing sites. They will inspect electrical systems to identify hazards and defects. Responsibilities include working with wiring, equipment, lighting fixtures, circuit breakers, and transformers. They will diagnose and repair electrical issues, read blueprints, and explain technical information. The electrician will work independently, within a team, or alongside contractors. They will also assist in planning electrical upgrades and ensure compliance with codes.
Must have:
  • High school diploma or GED certificate
  • Minimum 2 years of industrial or commercial electrician experience
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts and every other weekend
  • Physical stamina and strength to carry out tasks
Good to have:
  • 5+ years of industrial or commercial electrician experience
  • Strong mechanical and blueprint reading skills
  • Familiarization with CMMS, automated control systems, and PLC

Job Details

The purpose of the Electrician is to install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures in commercial buildings or manufacturing sites. Inspecting electrical systems to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair. Ensuring compliance with relevant codes, following state and local building regulations based on the National Electric Code.

This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career.  These responsibilities include some of the following:

  • Working with complex wiring, manufacturing equipment, packaging equipment, lighting fixtures, circuit breakers, transformers and other electrical components. Having knowledge of electrical codes and standards.
  • Diagnosing and repairing electrical issues quickly and safely.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical diagrams, wiring schematics, manufacturers’ maintenance manuals and computer aided design drawings (CAD).
  • Knowledgeable with computer maintenance management systems such as SAP.
  • Explaining technical information, status updates, progress to colleagues and department leads across the site.
  • Effectively working independently, within a team or alongside outside contractors.
  • Assisting in the planning of electrical upgrades, parts ordering, consumables ordering, and planned maintenance events.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant codes, following state and local building regulations based on the National Electric Code.

  • Completed electrician trade school or vocational program OR minimum 2 years of industrial or commercial electrician experience
  • Must be able to work 12-hour shifts and every other weekend
  • Physical stamina and strength to carry out tasks that might require climbing ladders, lifting heavy objects, working outdoors, working at height or working in confined spaces

Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • 5+ years of industrial or commercial electrician experience
  • Strong mechanical and blueprint reading skills
  • Familiarization with CMMS, automated control systems, programable logic controls (PLC), remote actuated valves and input/out panels.
  • Possessing skills such as mechanical ability, manual dexterity, and aptitude in planning and organizing.
  • Physical stamina and strength to carry out tasks that might require climbing ladders, lifting heavy objects, working outdoors, working at height or working in confined spaces.

The salary range for this role is:  $48,986 to $67,356 annually.
